The Hot Boy$ v. Aphex Twin (full album mix)

Hi guys, I made this album as an outlet for the stress I'm
feeling while I'm studying for my bar exams. It has been out
since christmas day but I just found this board and I wanted
to share it with you. I'm fascinated with trying to take rap
music in new and exciting experimental directions and I want
all my music to sound as though it came off a cassette tape
recorded in a dimly lit basement or garage. I hope you
enjoy.

Nice idea. I'm a gangsta/trap rap music fan while being an
Aphex/IDM enthusiast also, so refreshing to find someone
with similar tendencies.

I remember me & my friend from school freestyling over
'Alberto Balsalm' in the early 00's, so this brought back
some memories. Also, 'Guerrilla Warfare' is a hell of an
album right?

guerilla warfare is an amazing album. it feels so raw
whenever I listen to it. I'm glad that you appreciate my
album, I was kind of nervous to put it on here. it was
mentioned in some fantastic magazines and blogs. I also made
a Gucci Mane v. Boards of Canada album which became somewhat
of an online hit. did you ever hear it?

You have a real ear for choosing the right acapellas to go
with the right electronica tracks. I must say though, I'm
really not a Gucci fan, although I give him credit for
helping to pioneer the trap thing. Not the whiteboy college
students make shitty EDM trap, but 'real trap shit.'

What did you get into first, the rap or the IDM?

Just here to say I found that Gucci-Boards mashup to be a
complete piece of shit. Heard it a while back and just tried
it again and it's awful. Just tried the Wu Tang-Boards one
and it's also disgraceful. In the case of Gucci Mane, at
least there's the excuse of him being useless to start with.
Boards and the Wu, and done so tastelessly... it's like
watching somebody beat my cool uncle to death with all of my
deceased childhood pets.

Really, shame on you. Ghostface bravado over mellow ROYGBIV?
LABELS over Forest fuckin Moon? Piss poor

well I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm glad all the magazines
and blogs I have been mentioned in don't share your
sentiment. You can see why I was nervous to post on here
lol.

Definitely can see why, that's because you know it's bad.
You wouldn't be nervous otherwise. You're after praise
instead of sharing something good. Enjoy your magazine and
blog mentions, they obviously mean a lot to you

MD Geist: I've been listening to classical hip hop and
boards of Canada for years but it wasn't until law school
that I really started to appreciate IDM and psychedelic jazz
as a whole. I began listening to those genres almost
exclusively while I was locked away in the library. I have a
deep appreciation for history and it dawned on me that we
are living in a time of incredible musical
composition/invention due in part to the relative infancy of
electronically created music. I think that 500 years from
now, people will view artists like Boards of Canada, Aphex
Twin and perhaps even Madlib in the same light as Mozart,
Bach and Khachaturian. I realize that my musical style can
be very tongue in cheek at times but that's just my sense of
humour entering into the fray. I'm really just trying to
make rap music accessible and interesting by experimenting
with exciting and brilliant sounds. Making music is a
fantastic outlet and it really helps me get through the
endless reading I have to do. I appreciate any one who takes
the time to listen to it.

Ya'll don't have to justify ma maan.

The great thing about music is you can do whatever the fuck
you want, and no one can do anything about it.

I'm not sure if any one here is interested but I just
released a new DMX v. Actress album. I made most of this
album while procrastinating in the library over the past
month. I hope you have fun listening to it.
