say what u will about youtube but it has brought about many albums being posted in full to youtube. my new thread series "album on youtube of the week" showcases these album that have been posted on youtube
our inaugural album is PURPLE SAILS by SHIHO. it was released by hearts of space in 1989. its artist shiho was born in 1955 in japan. she went 2 school for music teaching and played jazz fusion keyboards but had a epiphany and decided to stop with the jazz fusion and instead made music based on traditional japanese music. this is synthesizer music with roots in the japanese tradition, but also taps into the "universal music" philosophy of new age. compared to other japanese new age artists such as kitaro, osamu and himekami, shihos music is very stripped down and tranquile. check out the cover art cuz its very beautiful and reflects on the albums sound
SHIHO - PURPLE SAILS
what do u think of this weeks album on youtube of the week?

Didnt sound special at first, but it played along rather nicely through the morning. Wasnt ruined by dove´s cries or other new age shenanigans either.
Finally the last track was so easy, that i didnt want the music to stop...
