Unfortunately I think I rate this one last amongst the 4 tapes, #2 being perhaps my favorite. I just find it a little bland and maybe lacking a layer of subtlety found in the others; a sort of mysterious veil is gone? Hopefully I'm wrong and need to listen more, as I enjoy the other three quite a bit. Also I acknowledge that his generally sparse style runs a big risk of blandness in general, and it's hard to pull off what he does...
(Side note, my favorite track on this one is electronic rhythm #2, with ER #4 (from BMT #2) being my overall favorite of these ERs.)

You're right on the fact that there is a change in expression compared to the other three, but in my case it has hit the dystopia feeling much more spot on. Some of the previous tracks hit me as being too much Dario Argento for my taste, but I feel Vol.4 is fitting very nicely. It's probably very much upon where I am in my life at the moment of course, but overall I find Vol.4 more listenable as a whole, and also easier to introduce to others.
Actually, isn't all the Electronic Rhythm tracks quite good? Until now we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 18. I hope he has more to come of that sort.
