Some pianists completely butcher Satie though.
I think the best I've heard is Daniel Varsano.

Not sure i've head Varsano's versions. I'll check it out. I know i can't stand most interpretations (since i heard Pascal Roge who is by far the most subtle pianist i've head play Satie). I got this cheap cd by this woman (Anne Queffelec i think) a few years back. I liked the cover and thought "why not". I regretted thinking that because it was so mechanical compared to Roge.
