My old man was quite a fan of 80s rock a la Genesis. A lot
of the guys involved with bands of that ilk back then had
their own instrumental and borderline-electronic side
projects. When I were a wee laddie my old man used to play
shit like that to me all the time.

Any love here for Anthony Philips' 1984 album or
Tony Banks' stuff? Anything else like this out there
that might have eluded my attention?

sorry I just noticed

you were a lucky man having a dad like that

and don't add me more stuff to check out, I need another
life and time for all the music I'm missing

so you're basically saying that those guys who played in
Genesis made some interesting solo efforts ? must check
then

Anthony Philips youtube sounds interesting, so does Tony's.
discogs, here I come !

thanks

p.s. I recently discovered that Jan "The Miami Vice Guy"
Hammer recorded some interesting stuff in the 1970s too

Just to make it clear, Genesis more or less stopped being
'prog' when the drummer replaced Gabriel on vocals. By the
eighties Genesis were more pop than prog.

they are mostly brittish and of course the brittish ppl are
to self consius to call themselves new age. which is why
theres hardly any self declared brittish new age artists
(they all made stuff such as above, or library music)

the only brittish new age ppl i know is medwyn goodall. its
not a diss on u brittish ppl thats just how ur psyche works
