it....Part 2 that is...

This is gonna be a wonderful release from rephlex, whoever
it is...

"I've listened thru a couple of times now and I reckon AFX
has had something to do with it; if it's not him on it's own

it's either remixes by him or a collab..."

I couldnt have said this better, I totally agree.

I still thinks its Ovuca. Richard loves Ovucas music and
have praised him in many reviews. He said that he got like
songs for 30 albums :) in one interview and maybe Wasted
Sunday and the other stuff is very old material and this is
Ovucas NEW STUFF showing off what hes really capable of.

This is maybe his newest material n maybe used some of
Richards softwares.
Richard got so impressed by it and had to release it as soon
as possible.

it's a 6 track EP... reckon this is a mix perhaps...does
sound like multiple songs...

Scratch that vinyl only comment...my mistake I misread...

I reckon kara was right...

one of the astrobotnia releases is a AFX remix album...

The first one wasn't so much like AFX but this one def is,
so I reckon that was Ovuca and this is AFX remixes...

makes a lot of sense...

offline Archrival on 2002-04-15 19:56 [#00176080]

OR its something else.......

IF ITS a new unknown artist...wich I dont think...I cant
understand why the mystery and why cant we know his real
name. I doubt that its a "totally fresh artist" tho, that
would be "SCARY" ;=)

I think I know who it is tho....the mystery continues.....

and major props to Rephlex for doing something intelligent
with MP3s and using em to encourage people to buy...

the only sensible way to go...everyones happy...

we will soon know the answer I hope, maybe we will never
know....I think we will never know who its was made by...

Rephlex will make this a classic mystery release.

Yall know that AFx dont want the spotlight and he loves
mysterys.

Archrival; I have the same problem. My bed-room has just no
"sleeping atmosphere". I don't know what to do about it.
Don't wanna eat no sleeping pills. I have to move, I
guess...

same here mate...I'm getting better but I'm really lucky to
get 4hrs a night (which is really the barest min I need so I
always feek tired....it's a bummer)..

but I get a script for some hardcore sleeping pills
tommorrow...that means a few nights of decent kip...

Yeah. You get some really good sleep in the beginning, but
after a while you get this shitty, non-dreaming sleep. And
besides; I think I'm a person who will get psychologically
addicted to things like that real fast...

my theory: the cover of astrobotnia part 2 is white/blank on
the rephlex site cos the actual cover has rich's face and/or
the aphex twin logo and they don't want to give away the
mystery until it's released.

maybe, it will be fucking excellent
but from the mp3's for now i think more of ovuca with rich's
equipment/help, caus it don't really sound like him more
like his sounds & effects

That would be a real odd thing for afx to do tho....I mean
it's like saying "Heres all my kit; heres how I do
stuff.....now you can release a record on my label that
sounds a lot like me..."...

not exactly like that, more like ovuca use equipment and rdj
help him do songs/produce, so end up sounding a lot like rdj
...

yeah, but if I were AstroB (Ovacua or whoever it is) I
certainly wouldn't want everyone to think that rdj helped me
to produce my work...i.e. I couldn't do it on my own....

This is Rephlex after all and when else have they done a 3
release set like this?...seems a very odd way to go if it's
an entoerly new artist...

I still think the simplest explanation is it's a AFX vs
Astrob or AFX remixes astrob...

I like all this MYSTERY...:)...its kinda phun...

Cylob speaks about Astrobotnia in the Italian's interview
below.

Cylob interview (in Italian, I'm sorry)

I translate:

The question was: What are you listening in this period?
Will it influence your next
release?

Cylob's answers: The Astrobotnia (plural) and Batucada. No.

------------------------------------------------

...so everybody in RePhLeX are listening to Astrobotnia.
I'm sure it will be a new RePhLeX compilation with a lot of
RePhLeX artists, similiar to The Braindance Coincidance.

...we will see...

yah, seems more logic...
and the 1st part is so different from the second... wich is
very strange music imo, astrobotnia is going to be huge i
think...

To quote Grant:

"it doesnt matter who it is. let the music speak for
itself."

What Wooferattack said was very intresting, plural...I think
this is a compiation of a lot of rephlex artists.

I MEAN IT JUST CANT BE A NEW ARTIST WHO CAN HANDLE JUST
ABOUT EVERY STYLE. I mean this kid got it locked down, he
got some DOPA ASS melodies there, hes on point with the
beats, he handle the advanced effects etc etc etc ambient
etc etc etc.....

offline Archrival on 2002-04-16 11:05 [#00177272]

AND IF This JUST "ONE" person (wich I doubt...WE GOT THE

I think its a collabo comp.

Ovuca is one of the involved persons, we will never know the
answer, if they was about to tell us who it is they would
have told us a longtime ago.

Rephlex records is so dam smart, they want this hype, they
want this mystery, they want us to wonder who this is (when
its more than one person).
