go back to victorian england, and you'll find plenty.

also check out edward gorey. i'm not particularly
interested in death, but i do appreciate gallows humor, and
gorey is fantastic for that.

Death is part of life. But in the ways that matter to us,
we die very often, in multiple dimensions.
Positive/negative changes of character, etc., are all
actually death. From elementary school mind to a maturing
mind... from a scared character to a courageous one-- all
ONLY possible through spiritual death and rebirth. Not
physical death; but a more important death. And physical
death is not the end of a life-- it is more a
crystallization and beginning of the dead's unchangeable
impact on this world.

In life, we are able to change and basically do whatever we
want. But in physical death, the strongest aspects of
character shine though, and every individual who knew the
deceased is presented with a truth of the deceased's
character; a summation of all interaction and known actions
of the deceased. In this sense, physical death is actually
the beginning of immortal life; all previous actions
unchangeable. But for the physically living, in this
regard, there should be great comfort in knowing that
everyone can radically and positively change themselves,
their environment, and the world, merely by will; regardless
of previous actions, regardless of reputation.

In physical life, we progress and improve, though repetitive
death. To live progressively is to strive for death of old
selves and rebirth of new selves.

But overall, OVERALL, there is never any death, as
Consciousness is infinitely in the ever-present.

As a sidenote, "death related work"-- in Japan, washing
corpses at the hospital is a high paying part time job.
Learnt about that in Japanese class in high school (Tokyo).
Yay?
