What does your name mean?

Lots of people on this board have very, very interesting
names (some are fun to say). I thought to start up a thread
here where everyone can, if they want, give a little
explaination on where they got their names and what it
means.

For those unfamiliar with my name its basically: Almond
Brune / Brune = Brown in french. Almond Brown.

u know how little kids sometimes say aMiNal instead of

well, i thought it sounded pretty cool, and capitalizing
both the A and the M added a nice touch, especially
considering those are my initials

mine is coming from the time i was a hardcore gamer that
play in game contest. but this story is of no interest so
i'll lie.

Kalaim Badkaama Is an Ancient Auloane name. it means "The
one that walk on stars." it have been given to me by an old
Shaman/witch just before my birth,
when i got out of Ma's, the shaman took a knife and cut the
throat of a sheep. she covered my face with blood and said
to our saint sky:
"Alkuatolt leekhomen Liga.
Here's yer new son. may he be guided by yer hand so yu can
be proud of him on the last day."

At this moment a class 3 panther clipper crossed the sky.

Well if you truely must know i have quite an interesting
story to mine...

My name (Tenzin) was given to me before I was born by a
Tibetan Monk, he told my parents they were going to have a
son named Tenzin Wangchuk, and they did... my name is
supposed to mean strong warrior and follower of Buddha
similar to the Dalai Lama's real name Tenzin Gyatso.

A cabbog is a living cabbage or lettuce with short stumpy
feet and coiled tendrils for arms.. They communicate with
soft gurgling noises emitted from their watery bowels.
They're also well-known for protecting small woodland
animals from beasts of prey.
If a shrew or mouse is in danger, they simply nuzzle the
cabbog with their noses or paws in which the cabbog will in
turn, realizing the urgency of the situation, spread it's
succulent leaves offering a temporary safe-haven for the
poor creature. After the stowaway is snugly accommodated
the cabbog will half-submerge itself in a patch of moist
soil where it will stay until the danger passes.

There's a cabbog plopped down on my desk right now and his
tendrils and toes are curling in glee from your comment!
-That's actually what I plan on doing. I love children.
I think their laughter is among the most beautiful sounds in
the whole world.. I think it's because you know it's
genuine and bubbling straight up from their hearts.

Oh its so true. Children's laughter soothes the heart...or
it would appear that way. Its funny cause they see so
different than we do. They're opions are so black and white
its uncanny. Its like yes or no to most things. To be a
kid again...ahh...I hear the ice cream truck.

I made my name up when opening an account on Amazon.com,
It's basically an almost realistic bosnian name. In old
Yugoslavia, (which Bosnia was part of), bosnians were always
considered slightly crazy and often dumb, there are a lot of
jokes on bosnians, so, this name is very funny if you come
from this part of the worls. And, Meho is short for Mehmed,
which is I think another take on the name Mohammed, a famous
prophet and founder of Islam. Krljic is a last name and it
probably originates from someone being rough and tough, as
"krljanje" means breaking or something similar...

Interesting. How would you possibly pronounce something so
lacking in vowels?

Imagine it is Krlyich: in our language (serbian, croatian,
bosnian, all one and the same in fact, only politics and
wars turned them into three separate languages), the letter
"j" is considered a semi-vowel and is pronounced as "y" in
"you" for instance.

No, not exactly: Y does not exist in serbian, we have a same
character but it is how U is written in cyrillic letters...
J and R are considered to be semi-vowels. It is fucking
complicated, I used to study this when trying to get to the
university and was dumbstruck...
