I plays the next track in the list you started playing from, as far as I know. For instance, if you played from your stream, and surfed around for a bit, it'll take the next track on your stream. |

a webhost i use provides me with "unlimited" bandwidth. while i doubt that'd hold if i were britney spears and posted and mp3 on twitter, it works for my "idm troglodyte" level of usage. soundcloud offered a slick interface and friendly community.... but, as with all these services (myspace, facebook, mp3.com etc) they finally blew their wad too early and robbed me of providing people visiting my page a worthwhile experience. which makes me pissed off i still have 8+ months of paid subscription left. |

Yah, if you're following good ppl, the stream plays good musics. I'm mostly following xlt/braindance folk, so I'm quite pleased. There's always some creativity and un-crystallized vision in this ultra underground, and no amount of skrillex birrion dalla DJ can buy that shit. |

soundcloud was made by enthusiastic young people who are totally into sound and just LOVE it and it got better and better then they got a big consultancy team in and went with mobile n shit, made it even better. better and better |

"mobile n shit" essentially means "hide some of the controls so we can put blank space everywhere and make it look like the apple store." it looks ok, but it's more annoying to use. things that had a direct button are now hidden in a dropdown. they didn't follow through either; old interface still shows up half the time. maybe it's more windows 8 than apple store. soundcloud is not just about showing off musics (though it does that), it's also about finding random other cool musics people. it should not be about confusing cool musics people and make them say "is this another track by the same guy or is that tiny player lozenge giving me sass again? hey where was that feature i used to use? fuck this let's delete everything and go complain vociferously on xlt" |

surfed into when googling for a synth. let it continue playing and heard one i wanted more info on two or three tracks later. page still just shows the original track that keyworded me into the joint, so i click the sassy lozenge at the top right, figuring it'll take me to whatever's playing now. it doesn't. it simply does nothing; ignores the click. turns out you have to either open it in a new window, or right-click copy-link-location. maybe it's just a firefox problem, but i sort of doubt it. |

i think i get it, now. after the next track kicks in, the player controls move somewhere else, possibly not in view without scrolling. on individual track pages it's a box on the lower right, if you surf directly into a playlist page it moves down the center, and if you listen to a playlist on a spotlight page the button actually doesn't move at all. |

This doesn't surprise me at all. I used to hang out in @wrongplanet and all the aspies in there were extremely argumentative, but at least they were well-read and oftentimes correct. gradually thinned out my trax over the last few months. cancelled my premiums last night, even though i had two months left. i wish i could claim that were a symbolic fuck you -- throw those two months in their faces, bro -- but in truth i feel like if i don't do it now, i'll just forget and something strange will happen to my soundcloud in late october and surprise the fuck out of me. |
