I was just wondering if anyone has had a go with a DIY kit
before? i thought i'd start with something easy and then try
something more difficult

sounds like allot of fun

something related, when you have finished and want to put
your breadboard design all on a neat PCB and in a box.

i use eagle software to make the pcb , its free and has
loads of tutorials online.and then i use a company called
wedirekt that takes the file and mills it out with vias and
perfect drill holes n stuff.

front panel design is easy ,i found a company called
panelpool , they offer free software for making front
panels, again perfect placed drill holes and square cut outs
so they match perfectly the PCB behind the front panel.

freqy recommended softwares:

eagle for pcb
target3001(panelpool) for front panel.

hey freqy looks like you have some experience with this,
thanks for those links. i did a class in electronics back in
2002 (part of a music tech hnd) but i have forgotten a lot
of it and i was never really very good, but just starting to
get interested again.

I bought one of the xoxbox kits years ago, got halfway
through and then moved house and forgot about it, but now
and again I wake up in the night disappointed in myself for
being such a twat

I love your life, all the little video snippets I catch
bring me joy to watch. That thing is a fucking monster. Love
how at 13:20 it sounds quite like the start of 2 Analogue
Talks

Thanks man! It can be a rather devastating sounding synth,
so much it scared one of my mates.
