I'm confused, do you want moderation or not? On the one hand, you miss the "good old days" when moderation was much more heavy-handed and complain about me forfeiting my responsibility. On the other, now, when I am vastly more lenient (in recognition of the graveyard troll-pit this place has now become), you see it as a bad thing. Although, when I even (temp) ban troll cunts, (which is only yourself, since I came back, as it happens) for things that would have garnered a perm ban in the past that's wrong too. You are by far the least pleasant and most abrasive member of the board. It is not as if I am alone in thinking this. In the old days, a thread like this would warrant a ban: Be careful what you wish for. |

Yes, I'm beta-testing it for V2. Just fine tuning the dictionaries the algorithm uses to classify posts. Once it's working, it'll result in automated moderation by a cold emotionless AI that doesn't care what you call it and cannot ever be accused of favouritism or prejudice. Users will be rated on a sliding scale of "on topic" to "permabanned troll" and their user rating will appear next to their name. This way, it will be transparent as to how much you're pissing off the moderators and how close you are to ban. You know, as opposed to the seemingly ambiguous sort of thing we have to rely on now like, "You're fucking pointless and unpleasant. Unless your signal to noise ratio improves dramatically within in your next 25 posts, you'll get a ban." Which of course, is wildly open to interpretation. If you're a witless cock, who wilfully misinterprets even the most black and white messaging, as some posters are wont to do. |
