This is a very good thread. I think i started it when i was
a bit drunk. It also gives abhalfway acurate describtion of
my fears. My brain is tormenting me with these thoughts,
feelings & pictures.
It is like annoying background noise

i think i know what you mean. a painful memory comes back
out of nowhere, and the sensation is almost physically
painful; it makes you want to punch yourself in the head to
make it go away.

memories are like cutting a vinyl plate, add more pressure
and the cut goes deeper. some people just have very heavy
quills and even stupid, trivial stuff cuts deep. unless you
diligently manage things, you can wind up with a minefield
in your brain -- lots of buried things that blow up when you
accidentally step on them.

try this:

1. find a reasonably open space with a carpet, or padded
floor, where you won't be disturbed for a half hour.

2. do stretches (all the ones they taught you in gym class)
and shake yourself out a little, get your body warmed up.

3. start poking painful spots in your head. when that
sensation comes, yell. scream. just let it out, no filter,
however it comes out. flail your arms around. hurl yourself
to the carpet, throw a little kid temper tantrum. get back
up and start jumping around, yell some more.

4. when you're sufficiently tuckered out, sit down, and
freeze. meditate. sort out your problems a bit while those
intrusive thoughts are off licking their wounds.

5. do that shit every day, preferably at the same time of
day or same time of your sleep/wake cycle.

and maybe take some of that dxm stuff you like to help get
the process started.
