I like this album. Fuck the haters who say it's the pop tip of the witchhouse iceberg. I was surprised to see it for sale on iTunes though. Whilst looking at the description, one of the comments jumped out at me, "This is a good example of how far behind America is with the rest of the world when it comes to taste in Music. Salem here was nominated for about seven Swedish Grammys and had the number one record for quite awhile over there." I can easily see how it's accessible compared to most witch house, but King Night had the number one album slot?! I can't find anything else to corroborate this. Can any Swedes here verify this for me? TIA. |

I love King Night too. But that statement is just too funny, I can assure everyone that Salem did not recieve any swedish grammy. It's funny how some americans seems to think Sweden is a good place to make up some story about to strengthen their arguments. Like that republican on fox news who claimed that Sweden has the highest suicide rate in the world because we have high income taxes. In fact we have about the same suicide rate as US, but who's going to take the time to check that fact? |

As appealing as the vision of the video to Sick being on MTV constantly and being unable to walk down the high street without King Night blaring out of a car is, I suspected the claim was "too good to be true". You're right about how Sweden (and sometimes Switzerland, perhaps they confuse the two?) is cited as examples of all kinds of crazy things that happen "over in Europe". Usually as an extreme of something good or bad, in order to make a point in another country. :) |

Ceri! I hope you are well too. Yeah so many times I've been complimented for my country's ability to produce cheeses and finely tuned clockworks. Oh and those knives, pretty clever! But it goes both ways i guess. I wouldnt be surprised if i've complimented some one from Kansas for their delicious fried chicken. Just realized that there's a swedish mainstream musician named "Salem Al fakir" who won a couple of grammys, that's probably the reason for the mix up. |
