i always thought im an audio guy... i would rather be blind
then deaf. but when i think about it now... cunningham
brought me to aphex twin, music television brought me to
music. never really listened to the radio. and my parents
listened to crap.

also, this gay guy who was dressed up as a seaman and had
aspergers came up to me in a bar one evening. he said to me:
youre a visual person. seems legit.

cool story bro1

music can be visualized. it's always worst to be deaf than
blind though, because being deaf really makes human
interaction difficult. i remember my grand grand mother
sitting at the table when we were all having lunch and the
room was quite busy but she was just in her own thought
because she could't understand what was going on... eh
didn't mean to tell you about my ancestors

"it's always worst to be deaf than blind..."

Come on that's BS. You can't make a statement like that,
it's ridiculous.

I'll continue to moan.

"being deaf really makes human interaction difficult"

They can lip read, see people's facial and body expressions
(which have an important role in human interaction) and
there's sign language (fair enough most people who can hear
don't learn sign language).
So don't moan, yann_g, maybe i just didn't understand what
you meant by "it's always better to be blind". It's clear
each individual will react differently.

My kids and I can sign, it's great! They aren't deaf but we
used to watch a kids program for the deaf and it's really
funny. We've made a few of our own signs that the signing
community won't understand like "The Evil Claws of Amma
Asdis" and "the terrible hair of Skuli". I think signing
should be taught in schools, you understand the concept of
the words alot more.

That's really cool!!
I learnt not long ago that sign language varies a bit from
country to country. Each place has it's special dialect and
slang.

Yes, they do the UK version and our own daft stuff but it's
easy to understand and express if you just look. Getting it
wrong is also good as you interact a bit more. The first
thing I learnt was "A squirrel climbing up a tree"!

I'd sign it now but it's not going to work on this evil non
signed messageboard.

Ha ha! That's a useful one. A bit like 'ou est la plume de
ma tante' in french. Though more cute.
