hedfuck will be upset there's no recognisable new sounds. I
mean come on EpicMegaTrax! We need a song where every single
sound is new.

"the look" was a combination of a brief stretch using
ableton 8, and deciding that NI massive had lots of good
presets but i should, like, use this thing properly. and
that mostly happened in cubase but then i'm in ableton and
diddling with it and i dunno, kind of drawing. with some
notes, it becomes, like, that five-pointed star you draw
with a single pen motion, then boop boop there's a dot on
either side of the top point. then i get to the real meat of
the matter, which is taking apart a dusty springfield track
and using musical cues to completely twist the lyrics of the
song into something dark and regretful like bad cocaine sex.
because why not i then also sample lou reed's metal machine
music and some five star song. then where was the saxaphone
i splattered all over from? okay that was dusty, too... but
by that point i've a bunch more NI massive patches going and
it's kind of like being in some sort of ship hurtling
downwards through some sort of tunnel and it's all very
quick but inside you're feeling this mere gentle rocking
motion as rapid descent rushes by. is it punk to take a bit
of metal machine music and make it something enjoyable to
listen to? i thought so

then you'll know, the new disco. i was getting the synths
and drums and samples to talk; to say words. one of those
days where it was bleeding out the walls. in the living
room, on a laptop. both tracks say their titles with
spattered drum hits through dfx buffer override and such

synthadelic ~ ok i was selling out a bit, but it's a lot of
fun and that was the idea
