this is the thread where u can bare all, you can slag off
the opening ceremony, post pics of russian gymnasts, wank
over the pictures of the russian gymnasts, moan that boards
of canada wasn't used in the musical montage, wait for staz
to ignore anything he said or any link he posted, completely
ignore freqy, joke about illfates heroin addiction, bag
jivverdikker as if you know him, and beg phobiazero to come
out of his fucking swedish gayboy criogenic capsule so
everything will be ok.

i thought the opening ceremony was bizarre where bizarre
shouldn't be,
my dad hates the olympics, and some older dude i talk to
does, and i said, 'that was bizarre' to both and they were
like 'nah, don't be a critic', what??
safe to say i'm not watching any of the sports but i hear
the beach volleyball draws quite a crowd.

aaaand... they faded the 'pretty vaCUNT' bit of the sex
pistols, all u need to know really.

yes i frankly would have rathered a fuckload of people
drumming
all those big phallic things coming out of the ground, loads
of dancing people dressed as Abraham Lincoln .. did look
amazing though.

Oh no. Pleason not a fuckload of drummers. They never take
the advantage of being in high numbers. it's always so
heavy.

I enjoyed bits of the opening ceremony.

I really enjoyed the opening ceremony, it made me glad to be
alive here and now.

I enjoyed the sport and the BBCs coverage (though they
could've been a bit less "Team GB" and gold medal obsessed
centric).

But what the fuck was that travesty of a closing ceremony.
It made me ashamed to be alive here and now.

the closing ceremony was so boring i only watched 2
minutes,
but i was wondering if there was some electronic music,
as they were apparently doing a view on uk's music history
and they have some of the greatest electronic talents...

i guess they didnt add any...

top ?

..dont see how tunes could be picked fo anything like that,
but then again i thought the best bit of closing ceremony
was the batucada snatch.. liked it but what was with all the
nostalgia

I found the ending ceremony an extremely surreal Collage of
random promotions advertising British products, a sick arena
of desperate corporate wankery. I was hoping that a huge
alien reptile would fall out of the sky and start crushing
the athletes and eat the gold medals, it would test their
might, as they would have to work together to fight it to
the death, and this would truly prove their strength to the
world. The only thing is I would feel sorry for the tiny
Japanese gymnasts.

I enjoyed the men's MTB, a really dramatic finish to it. The
course looked quite good. I would have liked it to have had
a few really merciless ascents on it that reduced them to
push and carry, but that's rare at international level for
some reason.

The men's boxing final was a stark reminder of how the
Olympics used to be: Amateurs competing to be the best in
the world, rather than paid professionals. It showed. Whilst
I like the sentiment, I wasn't sure if it was a good thing
for the spectators; it was poor to watch compared to pro
boxing.
