So a bit under a year ago, I lost suddenly lost partial hearing in my right ear (40db from 45-170 hz, about). Doctors at first said it was benign positional vertigo, then sudden sensineural hearing loss. It's sucked, I've had to get used to constant tinnutis and even distortion at lower frequencies, but I've kind of come to terms with it.
I went in for my half year check, and it appears my hearing loss has gotten worse, which shouldn't have happened. First I had some blood tests, but they didn't show anything.
So now I'm scheduled to have an mri of my head done tomorrow, because they think I may have a benign tumor on my cochlear nerve. I've been waiting for this for like 2 months now (yay american health care system!), and I feel like I've been breaking down without even realizing it. Been fighting tons with my gf, and I feel like it must be my fault. Altho at the end of all it, I don't think I've even begun to process... what, the possibilities? Blagh, I dunno.
But yeah, that's my bag.

A friend of mine had a similar benign growth in his ear, got it taken out, and he was fine. You'll be fine too.

hey man, imagine if they find something that is causing the problem with your hearing!! and as fleetmouse says they take it out and WooHoo your hearing gets better and better!!!
I had my skull operated on , i did, . lol : ) ( i hear everyone say > this explains everything ) it wasn't bad at all. They give me cool drugs and I floated around for weeks afterward. it was awesome. i wanna go back. i really wish they told me what it was.
i am sure deep down your gf knows your stressed out, i hope you get good news.
keep us updated.

Juice fasting is worth checking out, it flushes out the colon and the liver and that allows nutrients to be absorbed far more efficiently, with no more mucus clogging the colon, the pathways for the nutrients are opened up so the blood becomes super healthy rich and there is great hydration too. plus organic means reduced nasties for the body to cope with, so much more healing can take place, worth checking out organic juice fasting.

Jesus. I'm so sorry to hear that, man. I also have hearing problems (in my left ear) due to Eustachian Tube Dysfunction.
Anyway, even though my problems don't even come close, I can definitely relate at least on some level about the tragedy of having a sense impaired.
My only hope is that one day you will be able to have a new bionic ear, which will be infinitely greater than this clearly inferior human model ear.

gots an appointment to follow up on thursday. i dont think im gonna look at the mri's till then.
i really really wish i could have taken a recorder in there tho, those sounds are ddddope. i should have asked the technician, he also had some weird minimal techno loop going in the room the whole time, but the crazy techno lazer beamz of the mri machine drowned it out during most of the procedure.

glad you'll live. pretty scary having a scan and waiting like you did,
seems weird, but extra vitamins can work wonders. i was reading that vitamins A,C, and E are good for hearing.
check this chart out each vitamin is explained and a list of foods that have the highest concentration too.. if you click on each food it states the amount too.
