Hello Goon, it seems like since you left Rephlex, you've been much more prolific with your releases. I'm curious, can you say something about their release policy rituals? Were they apprehensive in supporting you any further? Shame, I would like to have hardcopy releases of your latest material. |

I'm currently on my 4th listen of this one, love it. I may even like it a little more than Family Glue, which is one of my absolute favorite electronic albums. Excellent work Johnny Squawk! |

contracts from reflex were on a per album basis, I lost contact with them after leaving london. Now I only release records through labels if they contact me first. I like bandcamp because I can decide to do an album one day and within a month have everything ready to go. On labels, that month turns to a year or three! Of course, if you self release, you have no publicity machine behind you, so you have to that yourself. My publicity is limited to a short post xltronic, watmm and facebook. I intend to make music for as long as i live, so being under-under-ground has its advantages. Jeff: Far from bigging up my own work, I'm painfully aware of my music's weaknesses. I'm Global Goon, and so's my wife. btw - I have released a few Global Goon tracks, they are very good indeed - and i book Johnny to play gigs for me from time to time, as he's good fun and a nice chap. Plus, I have an album's worth of unreleased tracks of his for vinyl (that whole one month turns to three years thing...) |
