LAZY_TITLE
dumb directions:
Make some dumb beat template, about 64 rows long or whatever using simple cheese percussion sounds A/B/C/D. 64 is the 'bar' length I guess.
Copy only the A sounds and paste it 5 bars long (using prime numbers), make each bar unique/'idm' with stupid sound alterations using modplug Oxx chopping and crap. Save as 5 bar wav. So you basically have a big wav 5 bars long, each bar slightly unique so there's variation/ not identical.
Do same for Bs and save as 7 bar wav, Cs 11 bar wav, etc (prime numbers).
Play all wavs simultaneously, the bars of each will be out of phase with eachother for awhile, due to prime number lengths, resulting in longer overall variation for less work.
sprinkle chocolate chips on (I was too lazy to do this step)
Bake for a40 and a million definarians in a pure vacuum then enjoy your SNACKTIVITY (TM).

An ex-landlord who was into IDM and did music professionally described the prime numbers trick to me just over 3 years back. Until I heard him describe it, I always thought it was something original I'd worked out. Turns out it's fairly common knowledge.
If you like these sort of sounds, audiomulch is worth checking out if you've not played with it already. I think it'd be really up your street.

cool
Here's 8 melodies; E3 melodies y
Audiomulch has an interesting name (like you mulch something big into little parts to reassemble or something) but in youtube vids it looks like a complicated web 2.0 solution to simply setting a loop beginning and end in modplug tracker.
It would probably be easy enough to have a program constantly generate randomness rather than 'cheat' with out-of-phase primes, but I havn't messed with music programming.
