I've been thinking about buying a digital field recorder and was hoping for some input from the board. Any tips to get the best value? The and the are both within my price-range but I wonder if there are any other brands and models I should consider. It's imperative that the sound is good and that it is easy to use and easy to hook up to my computer via usb. So, any thoughts? |

ive got a zoom H2 (new design looks cooler!) and im quite satisfied with it, specially with its buildin mics, really high quality recording and lots of possibilities (90/120/360º). Inside options also fucking cool (compressor, noise rduction, diferent types of gains...). i have just some complains about external microphone use (what i first bought it for, binaural-stereo input), i get a bit of noise and it sucks a bit (but maybe its the wire, i just got one with minijack ending, havent checked with another, but happening with all microphones). |

checking specifications of boths machines, apparently they are almost the same thing. H2 cant record as MP3, R05 cant have 360º 4 channel recordings. without havent checked R05, i would say H2 is slightly better as it is a bit more versatile for different kind of recordings |
