I was diagnosed with a touch of Emphysema in my lungs a few months ago and when I went to see the lung specialist today, she advised me to give up on smoking the weed. Im now 6 days off the tobacco (roll ups) and on that drug Champix, but when I confessed that I indulged occasionally in the waccy baccy, I was warned that, that can do even more damage than tobacco. Personally I think thats nonsense, as when I smoked roll ups I was going through 12.5 grams a day, if I done that with weed I wouldnt be able to afford renting a place, considering the fecking prices in Ireland 50 euro for 3.5 grams, if you actually get that amount. Anyway Im not giving up on the humble herb, but will have to look at ways to consume it differently, maybe a small pipe but still too choky for me. Would love to get my hands on a decent vapouriser, but the prices are way to prohibitive over here, anything from 300 to 500 euro, any suggestions wouldnt do any harm, not keen on eating the stuff as I have whitied out doing that before thinking my stomach was going to explode or something. |

Yeh I suppose I could do that, have been looking at the backpages and realised that in about March 2002 Xltronic decided to delete threads talking about drugs, so this one could be for the chop shortly, kinda daft really innit considering its mostly trippers and dopers using the boards. |

vaporizers aren't that good. infact they barely work. anyone else ever use a vap and get good results? I could be wrong and just used some shit brands. |

for one, there's been a few studies showing weed smoke has almost no effect on lung cancer, and in one case, even showed a statistic improvement over not smoking at all. now, i know lung cancer != emphysema, but it had been the establishment's case that weed smoke was just as bad or worse for you in all cases, including lung cancer, so it's only time until we know more about this subject. also, beyond smoking these numerous ways to ingest thc and the other cannibinoids. like said previous, you could vaporize, eliminating nearly all (of the barely existing) carcinogenic effects. if you go that route, either get yourself a volcano or build a vape out of a heat gun with temperature control (not voltage). the "whip" style vaporizers suck, definitely get something that outputs a big ol bag of weed smoke. beyond that, there's also edibles. with a stock of thc-infused butter, oil, and tincture, you can add weed to almost any kind of food you can imagine - just don't add too much! and lastly, there's salves, a something relatively new to me. it's massage oil infused with thc, and it just gets rubbed in thru your skin. very nice, quite therapeutic considering it's paired with a back (or whatever other body party you prefer :P) massage. california has a BOOMING industry of weed-using non-smokers (as do plenty of other medical marijuana states), so you know you're not alone - don't consign yourself to a life without the wacky just yet! |
