you can make usual tracks, with usual structures and make
everyone (and nobody) happy. you can also make tracks with
unusual steructures by refining something that it's not when
it comes out, leaving it almost untouched. but what you're
losing there is your only fingerprint. so work out tuning,
make it more like 'one'. twat

i can appreciate a hating for the sake of hating, its all
good mohamed. i'd just like to point out that im in the
process of learning how to make the music i want to and its
not always an easy mountain to climb. anyways, this isn't an
excuse, i've been spending a long time on this track and my
motivation for making music is not to make another "one",
neither is my background. fuck you and your checkbox.

rotten?

*opens the window*

no,

gotta try manage your shit so hard that it's the earth under
your feet moving, not you.

im my opinion, at musical level, being sure 100%, even for a
second only. and having faith that those seconds will
multiply. but losing faith to arrive. cos god damn, shit
never stop multiplicating.

that, or death.

served.

if you take things too seriously you end up having piles

offline mohamed from the turtle business on 2011-04-19 12:47 [#02411512]

it's not that you take things seriously, you take them
serious when they're serious, you take them easy when
they're easy. taking serious things with easiness is the
next big thing, yo,

think abou it: putting in each drum hit the same
concentration you put when you first hit a real percussion.
or battery, i dunno. but the same importance. same tension.
same love. those waves are travelling within you. they
become you. what the other people is listening is to.. you.
once you found the proper tune, your tune, you might be
reaching the groove without even knowing. it takes time, but
thats the only thing that makes the track move, while the
rest comes by itself. and the only thing worth the whole
shit imho. there is nothing serious to worry about. it is
simple math.

there is basic channel basic, and keeping certain things
minimal, but then sometimes you just want that
acceleratoresque bass groove to kick in. somewhere
between the two is how I felt about this track. I
appreciated the minimalism, but wouldn't argue if a mix
introduced a bass line half way or something.

im sorry for the aphex twin fanbase, but you can forget
about developing whatsoever argument without talking about
it, and thinking about it first. not that it's needed to
make music, its needed to understand it.
