yes, right now. i'm drunk. again. i need a holiday and i'm getting one. after work tomorrow. then it'll be even more drinking. probably. i need a psychiatrist. i work as a teacher. i genuinely treat each and every one of my pupils with the deepest respect, regardless of accomplishments or whatever. i dare say i'm well-liked. no, i need a psychiatrist for myself. i've reached the point where i think stuff like this: "my life's useless [in a neo-nietzschean sense], and i'm not having any fun, so why not make it better -- or at least as good as it gets -- for teh kids?" everything starts to revolve around work, and not around myself, and it worries me. |

being a kid > being a grown-up i still, to this day, remember a conversation i had with my dad when i was around 13. i asked him what's best of being a child and an adult. actually i asked the question in our family car, and i thought i knew the answer beforehand; i thought: "of course he'll answer being an adult -- you have freedom, you can do whatever you want!" to my dismay, at the time, he answered being a kid. i couldn't understand it. i thought about it for a several years actually, as an adolescence. why would an adult NOT want freedom and doing whatever you want? we all grow up i suppose! |

Advocate, read The Poetics of Reverie by Gaston Bachelard to help you re-construct your childhood. Go straight to the chapter Childhood Reverie. It is about dreaming, but conscious dreaming and how you can re-live your childhood when you get older. Pretty good book. :) And I am feeling pretty good, thanks. Had just the right amount of alcohol at my friend's last night and some nice pizza and a nice walk home, too. Alcohol with nice food= happy Tristan without hangover. |
