Your Favourite Recent Release

See I have a really monosyllabically simple theory...xlt is
dead becasue electronic music genrally either spat the dummy
or got thoroughly hybridized into other genres math rock,
electro rock (or whatever the fuck the new order/cure
wannabes are called) RnB n HipHop etc...

so what's you favourite recent release (say last 2 years)
by one of the artists or on one of the labels that made xlt
a must visit website...

me I was mildy disappointed by Autechre Oversteps...I mean
it grows on you but didn't blow me away off the bat like
say..Confield...Analords, Druglords whatever was the
reverse, kinda dug it at first but eventually...wore me
out...and I ended up starting to skip tracks...

and don't even get me started on that Shobaleader One
bollocks...I mean we pay about $40 for a new album down here
in New Zealand (and our dollar is not that far off the US
these days) and that was the first time (well his last few
albums have been a bit ordinary) I wanted my money back or
at least thinking of all the other things I could have spent
that money on...

as I said somewhere else Clark's last few albums have been a
treat...especially Totems Flare...

so what are your experiences with recent releases and
purchases...

Another popular thread Adnan, you should look into a career
of after dinner speaking.

I listened to these quite a bit:

Jega - Variance
Caribou - Swim
Four Tet - There is Love in You
Aleksi Parala - Mental Union
Lusine - A Certain Distance
Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue
Gonjasufi - A Sufi and a Killer

Tim Exile - Listening Tree would have been really good if it
didn't have those damn vocals..

i really like laurel halo´s king felix e.p.
no news for this board, but still its a rather sweet recent

release and was the starting point for me to dive a bit
into
80´s minimal wave.

dunno if i made it to the depths yet,
but i well recommend linear movement.
classic SM-88 drums with quality snyth.

listening to more artists´s releases from minimal wave
tape
compilations etc. maybe theres more gold to be found.

in the know when it comes to recent releases. a reason some
of us actually check out xlt from time to time. have you
ever thought of your posts being relevant before pressing
