For a short second. I avoided the camera during most of the meeting.
This is about Egypt, Om El-Donia.

No. I avoided the camera most of the time so I appear only in the last seconds with my brother's friends. I am holding the flag at the left end.

Yes. But also I quite certain Mubarak and his gang want to remain and will able to do so for a while longer. The Egyptian State is very strong and can crush the protests. But one cannot predict the future in these situations.
Many of the Egyptians I talk to think he will be gone by the end of the week. Not going to happen.

These power systems have a lot to loose. His Excellency waited days before even addressing the issue publicly. he will wait until the last second, and his oligarchy too.

Thanks Godel (the name!)... It really has been very distressing. And I don't think major change of the kind we hope for will come soon.
This drove me to tears:
Suez
especially the very last second... wept straight away

any news about discussions taking place inside the egyptian military? word is here the top of the military is closely entangled with the government, but the soldiers on the street closely with the people.

The military is so secretive that any thing we say about its internal politics would be speculative.
Yes, at least 1 member of the army actually joined the protesters. But these are just soldiers- the generals and Mubarak are the ones in control.

the soldiers are taken from the lowest strate of the society, often illiterates, and forced to a 3-years service that often translates into an entire life. they do that for food, if they manage to resist. if they can't, they can choose to corrupt someone to leave
