I went to cdnow.com to check on their electronica
section...and lo and behold a new Dieselboy mix cd. This
has to be the stupidist dnb music I've ever heard! All his
cds are this way. Im sick of pop electronica >_<

I thought Diesel Boy = Punk band
and Dieselboy = the poppy Drum and Bass

or maybe its the other way around.

i like the dieselboy system upgrade mix, and his soldier's
story mix.
the new one is pretty good for tech step.
his last mix blew out the ass though.
his stuff is alright
its more for those exposed to dnb rather than idm.
you got to be in the mood for it.

You want to hear good D&B you should listen to DJ
Soulslinger, anything on Liquid/Jungle Sky (NYC). 187 -
Konkrete Jungle is quite possibly one of the hottest drum 'n
bass tracks ever.

Drum 'N Bass is part of what got me into REAL electronic
music =)

I agree with Xanatos.
Breakbeat and DnB were good launch pads. Better than a lot
of trance.

anyone hear the new Cypress Hill song? It kinda has lots of
drum and bass breakbeats in it... it's a collaboration with
Roni Size, who I believe does drum and bass, correct me if
I'm wrong... but I guess that would be the connection
there...

it's a pretty cool song actually...

I saw Cypress Hill and Roni Size on TV the other night. It
was alright.

Roni Size does indeed do drum and bass. His style is really
jazzy. I don't care for his new cd where everyone is
standing on the cover in a greenish light I think. I forget
what its called.

dieslboy and roni size are both great if I may say so.

I think the whole dnb scene is flopping on its back pointing
toward the pop sun. Techstep should NOT be considered 'good
for the average consumer' as it only makes sense that
because it's harder its geared toward the hardcore. But it
still sounds poppy! It's like a fake hardcore scene that's
trying to be something. Darn it...sorry but :/ oh well....
Roni is cool. Got that New forms cd or whatever. I enjoy
some of that.

well dieselboy's speacilty is super hard shit. there are
lots of other great dnb djs... dj db, dj dara ..new york
shit i guess im more into american shit i think most
moving shadow sucks but i like metalheadz alot

I remember the early scene somewhat of jungle and dnb. It
wasn't all this techstep stuff but really skittery
stuff...from what I can remember hearing anyways. I
remember hearing the dnb remix of an Olive song. Man that
had to be one of the most remixed songs ever! Good song.

offline Amonbrune from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-04-11 04:30 [#00167140]

Roni Size´s New Forms is perhaps the greates dnb album of
all times.

taste.....ok?

I found the dnb song on Winmx!!!! oh man its slow lol I
thought the breaks were like the fastest thing on earth lol.
This is funny. Its the Paul Oakenfold remix of You're not
alone.

If anyone has heard that remix of You're not alone, that is
EXACTLY the type of drum and bass Im into. If anyone knows
any other groups that sound like that please let me know.

Download some DJ Soulslinger
In fact, I'll sign on soulseek and leave it on overnight so
you all can download some from my 'Jungle & Drum 'N Bass'
folder. You'll have to figure out what my soulseek sn is
though!

i gota stick by my drum n bass yo!... Though i admit with
the release of Shy FX "Shake Your Body" it has gotten a
little "mainstream" .. that does not mean it has all gone
bad... the new dnb is better then eveer.. Harder, Faster,
Better, DARKER!!! and even more beautiful then ever! off the
top of my head some great producers are Trace, Andy C ! (a
lot of free form drum and bass sounds a lot like idm ;] ) -
Tenzin

I have the misfortune of owning 2 Dieselboy CDs as well...at
the time I thought they sounded cool, but now that I
actually know my way around dnb, they don't hold up.

I do wish techstep would die though. The sound was
interesting initiall but it's too limited to work as a major
subgenre.
