Don't really have a top 3 but Mount Kimbie - Crooks & Lovers

if you like glass eights, then i'd recommend you check out
all of what kassem mosse has done.

i've also found a lot of joy in listening to recloose's
early works reissue on rush hour, as well as the virgo -
virgo reissue.

unrelated, but still excellent, been listening to mark fell
(one half of snd) - multistabilitiy. very impressive, seems
more aggressive than the snd stuff, but in the same vibe.

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2010-12-26 21:30 [#02402472]

I will check out recloose and kassem mosse, unless you're
making up those names.

I was listening to the Mark Fell last night. Good stuff. I
like the rhythms-as-frequencies idea, and the stripped down
production.

imo los angeles has some absolutely fantastic tracks that
stand on their own, but cosmogramma is the first record i've
heard in a very long time that really captures the idea of
an "album," in the obnoxious 1970's prog-rock sense of the
word.

I thought more of it as having a similar vibe as ICBYD,
which unsurprisingly, is among my fav Aphex Twin albums. But
yeah, I can see where you're coming from there. All good
tho, since I love Radiohead too ^^
