I thought last night I typed quite a hateful comment about new album after hearing samples - but I can't find it here. I guess I didn't press the right button and went to bed. Anyway, listening now track by track I must say this is Jackson 2013. He knows what's going on in current electronic music and adds his thing. BUT it's not that fresh and intruiging and mysteRIOuS and catchy and awesome and lush and smashy as on SMASH. He just got older and careful or stuff and gave WARP what they wanted. Methinks. It's good but not mind-blowing. Aphex syndrome, I guess: the longer the wait, the bigger crowd expectations which are hard to meet. So it's between 2.5/5 and 3.5/5. Not bad. And, hopefully, this album is a GROWLER. |

It has leaked and i must say it's disappointing. Too much in the "electro / rock" vibe for me. But i see there is a lot of work in every track but, well, not my taste. |

What a horrid, know-it-all and spiteful review! Oh wait.. I for one really enjoyed the couple of listens it's got so far. I can understand some people's disappointment but i think it's rather good. Rock and electro is mentioned but i like the pyschedelic side to it. Also some of it rather ehtereal. |
