Thanks Adam! You've made a great contribution to gaming and
society. Keep it up.

That was one of the best reviews I have read in a long time.

very entertaining and very true. i finished the game before
the first reviews popped out and hated it, still knowing
that it would get a 9,0 in gamespot.

actually reading any major computer game review site
convinced me not care about any reviews anymore. i was kind
of relieved seeing that despite that 9,0 the user rating for
blops was below 8 and falling. but i rechecked a second ago
and it reached 8.3 which means that people have no taste in
games at all (which stops making me wonder why there are
that many bad games released)

i found the graphics quality horrible, although i was
convinced that this was due to creating a low-demand game so
that a wide variety of pc-gamers will have the ame
experience. after i saw the benchmarks in which a quad core
barely handles the game i kind of dropped that statement.

first of all i hated the fact that the your main character
was so "defined". what i liked about the preview modern
warfare was the fact that you were a kind of anonymous
observer, a small piece in a greater puzzle and although
your actions directly altered the plot, you still had the
feeling of humbleness. now controlling a constantly babbling
dork on whose actions besides shooting and running i have no
input is just not doing it for me. besides this guy seems to
be quite the dick.

in fact why should i even bother getting into the plot when
it is so highly unrealistic and typical, with your dual
wielding rambo copy once again saving the world (america)
from the ruskies.

besides that the game feels like a railway shooter in which
you just press forward and shoot. every action is heavily
scripted and not leaving you any choice at all, frustrating
you every time a cutscene or quicktime event comes in. my
favourite part was when you were running over a exploding
mine field where your apc's die left and right but no matter
how you run, no mine will set off.

after stealing scenes from any vietnam war movie there was
(the boats from apocalypse now, the russian roulette from
the deer hunter) treyarch had only 5 hours of gameplay. so
what did they do - add a ww2 setting. COME ON. it's fucking
MODERN warfare. and this level sucks so much balls it's
ridiculous. there are somewhere around 5 sound samples your
enemies scream consisting of "good eyes!" or "i got him on
sight" which they repeat every 2 seconds. the sound guy did
a great job of turning the volume so high that it seems that
they are standing right besides you screaming into your ear
no matter if he was 5 or 50 feet away.

also - great job with the technical facts. spaz12 in the
60's in vietnam. good job.

oh yeah and the soundtrack. the soundtrack. those epic
orchestra tracks from mw1 are gone replaced by a wild mish
mash of music you basically have to switch off. my favourite
must be that awful metal-techno song from stage 7 which
loops over and over again for a good 20 minutes.

this one

oh and i wanted to comment the ai and basic level design but
just watch this

Sorry but anyone who uses the term 'hardcore gamers' is a
cocknozzle.

It reminds me of when you take your car to a repair garage,
the first time they do an honest job and even knock down the
price. then, taking advantage of your credence, they rip you
off!

nice review but why did you give it 5/10? you should take
heed of Amiga Power's approach to reviews and scoring

Even though my review is scathing, I think on a grand scale
it's still an 'average' game overall.
