Huh. I'm not extensively familiar with the original catalog
so to me this sounds great and I bet I won't like the
original s as much if I hear them now. Psychology innit.

the idea itself is awesome though. it's just the pressure to
make sure all the "greatest hits" are covered that made it
bad.

think of the originals as the 10 to 20 minute versions of
the tracks mashed together in the scion mixes and you'r
almost there.
one of the aspects what made the basic channel tracks so
great are the different layers interacting over time.
feeding of each others energies like a perpetuum mobile.
the originals provide a totally different experience and go
way deeper the the scion mixes, imo. listening to the scion
mixes is like watching a 2 minute summary of a 3 hour movie.
