"The story is set in Tokyo and focuses on Oscar, a young
American drug dealer who gets shot by the police, but
continues to watch over his sister Linda as a ghost. The
camera follows Oscar from behind his head during scenes in
which he is alive; after his death, the view hovers over
Tokyo through walls and across buildings. The film makes
heavy use of imagery inspired by experimental cinema and
psychedelic drug experiences."

Saw it a month ago on a movie festival. This is definitely
not a mindfuck. The plot, to my great disappointment, was
shallow and very predictable. Also, not that I'm prone to
defend religion, but the Buddhist claims about the state of
bardo were only used by Noe when they suited his sentimental
story. The shocking scenes are shocking only to the precise
extent that will allow this movie to be mentioned as a
menace in the mainstream media, but can cause only an
impatient sigh among the audiences. At least this is what
happened during the screening i attended and, from what i
was told, during on other one on the same festival. Anyway,
the only people that left the audience were the ones who
hadn't taken into account the length of the movie when
planning their daily festival schedules. Compare that to at
least 1/3 of the audience who left during "Trash Humpers".
Other than that, the movie to me was simply beautiful.
Enthralling atmosphere and great visual effects which were
necessary for the visualization of this story. I was
mesmerized for 2,5 hours and this made the moments when
Noe's infantile modus operandi kicked me in the nuts so much
more painful.
Anyway, go see it if you're interested in it, I don't regret
going even though the only lasting impression it left is a
slight contempt for Gaspar Noe.

Haven't seen this one, but Gaspar Noe is such a total
blockhead, I think it's endearing.
