Going off topic for a split second Jarworski - you do
realise that Ken from Street Fighter was allways the weaker
fighter compared to Ryu! :)

Holy shit, I'd assume you were a HUGE Aphex Twin fan... you
know, being a member AND a Wizard at APHEXTWIN.NU. You
know?

Well, listen to these guys... get the good tracks, and give
them time... don't dismiss them right off the bat if you
don't like them...

ESPECIALLY Autechre... I hated them and thought they were
overrated shit for a while... now they're my favorite
artists.

Jedi Chris: download some songs by junkie xl and songs off
of the cd Amber by Autechre. Junkie XLs fist CD is so
fucking amazing that I have listened to it more than any
other electronic album ive ever owned.

Thanks Ophecks, you are right, I had dismissed a lot of
these tracks...I had tended to play maybe one or two and
thought 'crap, crap, crap....' and maybe hadn't even heard
some of the others...

I'll let you all know how I get on...
:)

This is just attention seeking........ You've been given
plenty of advice, if you really need it?

Points: 12102 Status: Regular

You were born in '72 and you haven't come by any of these
artists?

offline Jedi Chris on 2002-04-09 01:12 [#00163408]

Points? is that what you are going for?

It wasn't a critisism it was question.

You are 30 years of age and you don't know anything of this
sort of music.

^

That's a critisism.

offline Jedi Chris on 2002-04-09 01:24 [#00163422]
Points: 11496 Status: Lurker | Followup to JivverDicker: #00163413

I didn't come looking for critisism....I came looking for
advice! If I had I might've posted a topic that said "This
is the kinda music I like . . everyone rip the shit into
it!"

That being said, if you don't have any advice then that's
fair enough....

offline JivverDicker from my house on 2002-04-09 01:29 [#00163427]
Points: 12102 Status: Regular

When did I say you have come for critisism?

You've had some advice, follow it, don't follow it,
whatever.

I know and you know, you don't need to answer this unless
your points mean that much to you......

offline Jedi Chris on 2002-04-09 01:36 [#00163438]
Points: 11496 Status: Lurker

I'm going to take the advice, and I will apologise to you if
I have offended you with my remarks - no hard feelings?

PS. And I'm not in this for the points either....but I
couldn't say this without posting one more time ;)

Anyway I gotta get some sleep now its late!

There you go...pick anyone you like!
Besides there's nothing wrong with using correct
punctuation. As a matter of fact, if you want me to pick
holes in your sentance structure - you'd be well advised to
capitalise names, nouns and the beginnings of sentances, and
maybe a full stop at the end.

:)

Jedi Chris, you've got tonnes of info from these wonderful
people but I'd like to squeeze in one more recommendation
:)

Plaid. Highly highly recommended. Some of my fave tracks are
Dead Sea and Anything, though I think it's all good :)

Though I do think that all Aphex is good so I might think
that Plaid are crap =D

I think there should be more variety than 'aphex twin' and
'big beat'. Would you be into abstractions in music? If
so, try Brothomstates. He's really good and provides very
refreshing stuff that isn't repetative (some but not all).
His cd Claro is good.

Autechre / LP5: I would think you would enjoy this cd if
you don't already have it. Lots of upbeat, more 'tune'ful
music.

Like are you strickly against repetition? You'll find out
that a lot of electronica is repetative...so...

If you like world type music that is sort of electronic-y, I
would say go with Bob Holroyd's cd A Different Space. This
is quite un-repetative and has some nice tunes.

Im getting into Amon Tobin. His stuff is quite upbeat and
jazzy. I don't know too much about about him but I have his
cd Supermodified and that's cool stuff. Its jazz meets
abstract meets ninja tune.

OHH I know what you would like!!! You gotta check out
Clarence Park by Chris Clark! I have that. It must be an EP
cause its only 30 or so min long but it is LOVELY!! A ton
of varience on that and its highly un-repetative! I would
say check him out first! :) Awesome stuff.

Anakin has two lightsabers......a green one and a blue one.
Obi-wan's is blue.

But thanks for asking...

Amonbrune - thanks!
