It looked like he had mild form of parkinsons.

Ken: nah man, he was soooo fucked. Way more fucked than I've
ever seen him before. His face and neck were really puffed
up. He was talking like Ali too.

The pic was actually Lou and Harold. I'm surprised you could
make it out.

superior vision due to carrot juice..

man thats a shame. ever since he got way into the spliffs,
guiness, hargan daas and body building supplements (no joke)
. i know he looked a bit stoned on the old 'step on' and
'kinky afro' vids and stuff, but now its ike lookin at two
diff people. how old is he now? 40 ish? looks a lot
older.....as well as larger.

He was taking body building supplements? What the hell for?

I've seen him before and he could be quite sharp, but last
night he was gone.

true story-i read an interview with him in Q or select bout'
ten years ago or when ever the first black grape album came
out-he was sat in a curry house with a huge balti in front
of him and several pints of guiness-he was saying that he
had got really into haagan daas when coming off the crack
and had started taking body buiding supplement because he'd
weanted to get in shape-he assumed that by taking it he'd
get fit-didnt realise you had to exercise at the sam time.
true story. there was a photo of him sat on the toilet in a
cubicle smoking a huge spliff with a pint of guiness in his
hand. he looked all chubby, like moley from 'wind in the
willows'.

He looks fucking awful. I can't believe he forgot the
exercise part of the equation.

I saw him on Jo Whiley's crap TV show a few years ago. He
was on about how he and a mate climbed on the roof of a
venue that Kate Bush was playing and saw her go outside for
a fag. He said she smoke about "ten fags in a row the
fuckin' pig. Put me right off her".

he's great shaun ryder. apparently he plays his dad in the
'24 hr party people' film.

i saw an old happy monday photo of him sat on a stage (again
smoking a huge joint) with bez-and in the background was his
dad, ravin' with a huge viking helmet on-ripped to his tits.
absolutely fucking textbook.

Those people seem untouchable. People like Keith Richards
and Rhyder who do so many drugs and seem to scrape through
ok. Though judging by last night Rhyder might be another
casualty.

Bez sounded so thick: "Errrr, what's that word? Yeah
stalking. We was stalking Factory Records"

didnt bez do a bit of porridge for sellin e's after the
mondays split??? i also remember a story bout shaun being
kicked out by his missus for because he kept breaking her
hoover for a laugh...

recording 'yes please' saying that he had the master tapes

some money for crack'....i hope he doesnt just fade into
oblivion..maybe after the disaster that was 'stupid stupid

theres quite a good interview with tony wilson in this weeks
big issue-good review of the film as well, although it does
mention that steve coogan does a bit of an alan patridge
when being wilson-suprise suprise. also shows ian curtis
hanging himself as well. mmmnnn.

Steve Coogan, good as he is, is a bit of a one trick pony.
He always seems to slip into the man Partridge.

true true. he did a series a while back didnt he? forget
what it was called -had six difference characters...coogans
run?

i liked partridge on 'on the hour' radio show, he had more
of a nervous paranoid side-still cockey but you could
imagine him going home and just crying all night.

The best Happy Mondays record is without doubt "24 Hour
Party People....". It was produced by former Velvet
Undergrounder, John Cale... I luv it!

Thats a SHAME! The Durutties were one of the truly GREAT
bands on Factory! They were postrockin' even long before the
stupid term "postrock" was invented...

Sure, I love Joy Division, but I feel that Durutti Column is
one of the more underrated bands on Factory! They have had a
much more important influence on current "independent" music
than many, many other bands an should at least be given some
of the credit for this. Hell, I only discovered the
Durutties a few years ago and I was shocked at how I could
have missed out on a band with so much influence on the
music I listened to then and still listen to today.

DC ... thats Vini Rilly isn't it?...he's is one brilliant
guitarist and songwriter...

Pity he's not better know... probably most famous for that
album he did with Morrissey...

Yeah, thats him! I did not like that album he did with
Morrisey, tho...

His guitar is divine! Have you heard how I don't think Disco
Inferno (Che Records, Rough Trade Records) would have their
brilliant guitar-sound if it wasnt for Vinni...
