even if you're just moderately interested in painting, i highly recommended this hour long francis bacon doc (disregard the rather lame intro of part 1): i've been a fan of Mr. Deep Fried Bacon's pictures for a long time, but i always had the impression the painter himself was a complete dick. however, this interview/documentary completely changed my mind about him. I can really identify with his disposition and outlook on life. he comes off as extremely intelligent and imo he's not THAT bleak. he's rather realistic i'd say. |
