You should come to low end theory with my friends and I for
some good music and beer, whilst in LA.

Hey J. I'm on the east coast unfortunately. Let me know if
by some bizarre sequence of events you end up in Florida.
I've got a friend in Denver and I'll ask him what's good
around there. Are you planning on visiting any cities in CA
besides LA?

goto Seattle, it's awesome there.

Whatever you do, don't goto Detroit.

Promise me you don't goto Detroit

I second Seattle, great city. Make sure to hit up the EMP
(Experience Music Project) if you go.

DiaZo: looks like a nice enough place. Will keep it in mind.
Thanks!

Zeph: i'd say that's extremely unlikely but one day I will
visit the eastside.

Seatlle is a bit too far. I'm afraid i may even have to skip
yellowstone because it's too far up north. Maybe save
north-west for next time..

can anyone tell me how much on average you pay for a full
tank of gas and how far it gets you?

You can use this to get a general idea of the
price per gallon USD that you can expect to pay per
state/area. As far as mileage, it depends on the fuel
economy of the car you'll be using, of course, and whether
you'll be doing mostly city or highway driving. I think most
newer cars get around 25mpg (highway), and according to that
map, gas will be about $3/gallon (rounded up) in pretty much
all of the western United States. So using those numbers as
a given, it would cost about 12 cents per mile but again
these are all estimates. If you're renting a car, try to get
the best fuel economy you can.

Some advice that was given to me once when I was planning to
hitchhike across the states was to avoid the interior areas
and just stay on the coast if possible.

If you end up making it further north than you were
expecting, Cape Disappointment is beautiful, and its name
makes for great travel stories. Tricky driving tho.

i'll encounter the coast exactly once so thank you for these
comforting words ;)

tricky driving with a rental car in any forsaken place is
best avoided in my case.

I skipped the grand canyon (I was there about 7 years ago
and had a brief look) and went to Zion (same thing but no
hiking). Turned out to be a good decision. Tomorrow i'll be
sleeping at the luxor hotel in Las Vegas.

http://www2.imm.dtu.dk/~awk/photography/zion_02.jpg
not my photo, but this is what it generally looks around
here.

protip: on the road, listen to Bill Hicks and Alan Watts for
best results.

I miss you guys!
