the religion of peace in action

this was only the beginning of course

arson attack

on the 20th of may there is an event on Facebook called
'Draw Mohammed Day'. Anyone can participate, but you can
also bend over backwards and let these savage muslims walk
all over you. Thoughts?

So he showed a video containing an image of two guys kissing
and got attacked? Mate. You go into your local pub and show
people a picture of two guys kissing, you'll get
slaughtered. Also, did you see how badly messed up Electric
Six got at that one gig? They came out to 'Gay Bar' and got
pelted with eggs.

If you attack someone's faith on that level you're going to
get attacked right back. What possessed this guy to be such
a mug? Do you have any idea how much shit they have had to
take off us lot? He knew this was going to happen. I find
this more disgusting than homophobia itself. I bet that guy
never has to work a day in his life just by making shit
movies like that.

Only if the pubs you frequent are run by landlords who
support the BNP and plaster their walls in flags of England.

Once again, muslims get crazy over a silly, stupid little
video thats whole purpose is to make them angry. Troll
successful!

We (supposedly) live in a secular, free-speaking society.
Faith deserves to be ridiculed just as much as anything else
in the world. In fact, if religious nuts can't handle
juvenline jibes against their god, then their faith must be
pretty shakey to start with.

Every religion is retarded. Islam is just a little more
special than the rest.

Do you think that homophobia doesn't exist in universities?

Homophobia is not limited to supporters of the BNP.

How does being loyal to queen and country make you
racist/homophobic?!

This is not a 'stupid little video', if you believed in
anything you would see that. But you don't.

We live in a supposedly civilised society where one has the
decency to keep ones mouth shut to avoid angering people.
Freedom of speech is a theory that doesn't work in practice.
(Go run though Harlem shouting the N word.)

Religion is not 'retarded' any more then a complete
disregard of faith is.

It's nice to see we have so many racists on here. Not all
Muslims are like this and for you to attack them all because
of the action of a few is distinctly myopic at best.

from the devil's advocate point of view: there were actually
children in the audience, so the clip was a bit too much for
the context. i wonder whether the premisses of the whole
event were clear to the audience. i mean, you probably
wouldn't want to bring your kids to an event where clips
like that would be showed.

''If you attack someone's faith on that level you're going
to
get attacked right back.''

you probably fail to see that this is exactly the sort of
bizarre logic that islam thrives on. Threatening physical
violence to suppress voiced opinions, insulting or not, can
never be acceptable in a free society, yet many people,
amazingly and sadly, have been beaten to death with the idea
that we should at all times respect peoples' religions, even
if those religions are hateful, oppressive and barbaric.

Brisk: spot-on.

the judjment you have of all things life is related to your
experience and your experience only. the representation of
them is your own drawing, maybe many people share your
vision about something but there are many people that
doesn't, go to the root of your informations and judje the
way they have come instead

islam is not a race you imbecile. I can disrespect anyone's
beliefs without being a racist or a bigot.

does threatening to murder people over cartoons fit your
definition of decency? 'shut up or we will shut you up' ?
'convert or be converted'?

how you are able to stick up for these crazed lunatics is
absolutely beyond me.

It's less bizarre logic and more truth, but you can't see
that. If someone attacks you do you sit there and take it?
No, you have a go right back. If someone attacks you so
deeply that it makes you sick, perhaps by being graphic
about your girlfriend maybe you'd pick up a chair. You've
just never been in a position to test this so you can't
imagine it. Had you been in such a position you would feel
more empathy towards the situation.

It may not be acceptable but in a moment of weakness you
will see. Have you never been roused such that you imagined
punching the 'bullock of the bar' so to speak?

Here we have people who have been on the poor end of western
expansion, being shown a video in the poorest of tastes,
produced by an f-grade artist who has probably never worked
a day in his life. Their taxes fund morons like this!
Doesn't it make you angry to think that your tax pays for
art grants that involve some moron shitting on a plate? And
yet you pour your energy into spreading racial hate as
appose to continuing your self presumed enlightened view of
life.

Look at the comments on you tube. Do you see those western
reactions to that video? How is their hate any different to
the hate in the video? It's a paradoxical joke! Can't you
see??? We are all the same!

People have been beaten to death for being gay! Oh but
/that/ doesn't matter...

there was an interesting article this weekend in a newspaper
about some french koran-scientist doing research to the
origins of the texts in the koran. it was pretty interesting
to read that although the koran is taught to be the perfect
representation of the word of mohammed (in all its
perfectness, and what not), there are actually different
versions with, in some cases, radically different meanings.
islamists often neglect the fact that the koran is, just
like the bible, a collection of interpretations of
reinterpretations of different historical texts.
it's important to note the scientist hasn't met much
aggressiveness from muslim-society. which does tell
something, i guess. these people, who are brainwashed into
believe the koran is perfect (and some of them can easily
turn violent when the word of the koran is put into doubt),
are still open to rational science.
this kind of science is going to be way more fruitful than
any of these pseudo intellectual clips showing gay muslim
wearing mohammed masks with the idea of defending freedom of
speech. this whole freedom of speech thing is a never ending
fight.

Those are extremists, not Muslims you pillock. If a Muslim
kills someone they are sent to hell. But when people see
this they hate all Muslims equally. It's terrible. There is
a whole lot of wrong going on here and I don't support any
of it.

I never once came across any homophobics whilst I was at
uni. This is in Bradford too, which is a working class town.
On the contrary, the people on my course were smart, caring
people for the most part and we had a very mixed ehtnic
demographic. In fact, at least 1/3rd were muslims and all of
them were sensible and against any kind of religious-based
violence.

The video was stupid. In fact, I pissed myself immediately
after it started because it was so juvenile and ridiculous.
It was the moving image equivalent of a fart joke. I'm sure
Lars Vilks knew this when he made it and the whole point is
that something so absurd is taken as a huge insult by
radical muslims to the point where they're willing to
physically hurt others. Censorship for something so trivial
is wrong. "Pornography" as they call it is not illegal in
Sweden as far as I know and they were completely just in
showing the film.

I felt sorry for the people with children in the audience
having to witness such barbarianism over something so
absurd. Though it's not without precedence, so the parents
should have known what to expect anyway I suppose...

Anyway I digress. Yes, freedom of speech is only as good as
the thing you're trying to say in the first place, but there
is NEVER justification for violence as a result of religion.
Never, ever.

Yes, but theres a pretty big difference between some guy
talking shit about your girlfriend standing in front of you
and someone making a shitty little film about a supposed
prophet who lived 1500 years ago that they have never even
met and is probably complete bullshit anyway.

Oh and some of my best friends are Christians. They've never
once tried to force me to believe in something or threaten
violence, nor did they take offense when I questioned their
belief. Instead, they chose to have an adult debate
explaining exactly why they believed in God and why He makes
their life better. Passive religion which genuinely helps
makes peoples lives better is a good thing. Getting violent
because your faith has been questioned isn't, nomatter how
strongly you believe it.

And yes, I realise it is only a very small minority of
Muslims who act this way and it is regretable that they are
stereotyped for every Muslim in the world.

If it produces the same feeling of hatred then there is no
difference. Someone is attacking something that you love and
you hate it.

If you really can't differentiate between the two, then
you're beyond reason.

If I call you a cunt on the internet, would you be just as
offended as if I called you it to your face? It's not so
black and white.

Imagine if everyone just sat there in silence though that
entire video, not even responding at the end of it and
completely ignoring the 'artist' as he walks out of the room
feeling tiny and pathetic to no applause. That would have
been so sweet. If humanities level of intelligence was just
that little bit higher maybe we would have seen Lars shrink
and fade away to nothing right there on stage.

They called it pornography within 10 seconds of the film
being shown. I didn't see any tits apart from those who got
a little crazy and stormed the stage.

I've absolutely no doubt the film was an amateurish pile of
gash, made to create nothing more than a bit of controversy.
The differece is, I wouldn't force them to stop the film or
threaten violence against the film-maker because I didn't
like it. I'd just walk out.

So you're not a fan of freedom of speech then, and take it
that every image of two males kissing is a direct attack to
your soul and family? When i'd show you a picture of two men
kissing, just out of the blue, you won't do shit other than
wonder why the hell i'm carrying around a picture of two men

Spikee Dragon

i think one of the things about extremist muslims that
really irks a lot of people is that there is the
premeditated decision to attack anyone.

you mention about being "put in a position", and a "moment
of weakness". these are spur of the moment, fleeting
passionate reactions. you mention about reacting to someone
being "graphic about your girlfriend", that is normal. it's
not premeditated.

extremism, in any religion or sect or cult has a certain
level of premeditation. and to threaten and exact revenge on
people is tantamount to lawlessness.

Islam is the truly the dumbest religion out of dumb
religions. One can and should criticize Christianity, but it
is clear that without christianity and christian theology we
would have seen no age of enlightment nor secularisation. The
catholics believe that man is made from gods image, that
means we can recognize god through reason! In Islam that is
not the case, god can appear as fucking maniac and muslims
will just accept that, and justify anything with their
violent maniac god.
