I got elected as one of 12 winners in an international
design competition, with more than 1400 contributions!

The task was to come up with a new symbol for EU, and design
a new flag. More info here: A new symbol for Europe

your submission and the first one are definitly the best
ones. the others are VERY mediocre at best.

Before I even looked at the names I determined that Spectrum
was the only submission that wasn't total shit, and is in
fact quite lovely. Congratulations and don't listen to
recycle, he's just miffed that his own submission for the
gay pride flag wasn't chosen.

It's a really great design, but imagine having that as an
actual flag, i'd get motion sick on a windy day!

Awesome! (Though Spectrum does remind me of some Star Wars/
Star Trek warp speed thing, but if the universe were made
with crayon.)

Thanks for all the kind words! Means a lot, especially
hearing that someone liked it before seeing my name..
↲↲The colors are from all the flags of the
European members- I can understand the gay pride
associations and the possibility of getting dizzy tho! I can
make another one, with the actual pride colors, just for you
recycle, if you like!

Turn on some strobe lights, and it's like Raver Goatse.

why did they chose a flag with the nazi sign in it?

i honestly think thats not really a good representation of
germany...

oh and congratulations viktor,
most of the flags are shit, but yours is nice...

middle...

Thanks guys!

recycle: do you mean my entry with all the colors? They're
just taken from all the flags that are European members,
that's it. I don't really remember why I came up with that
specific idea, I assume I just thought it would look cool.

melack: Thank you! Yeah, I kind of like that one too, it
feels a bit more robust with something that holds all the
colors together in the middle.

Looking forward to see the flag put up at Hofvijver, in The
Hague.
