Rediscovering Aphex Twin

It's so easy to become overzealous about Aphex Twin after
listening to, say, Analogue Bubblebath for the first time in
a while.

AB 5 - Untitled 1

Yes, this track is exciting in a progressive, understated
way which I like a lot.

I listen to ABB3 2xLP today for the first time in ages. I
really enjoyed it. Made me think how I need to spend more
time listening to and making music like a few years ago...

Selected Ambient Works 85-92.

Listened again last night.

Then listened to some newer hip electronic music and it
sounded like poop.

SAW 85-92. One of my favorite records of all time.

Didn't even catch this thread. About 2 weeks ago I started
listening to the aphex discog on my stereo. It was like
being re-introduced to new and fresh music. I miss the 90s.

i (re) discovered abb5 yesterday,
i had only listened to the vinil twice
since i got it...
i have to say its pretty nice and absorving,
but yet one of the worse afx album,
maybe thats why it was never released...
or maybe what we all have heard its just a test pressing,
and if it was finally comercially released, mr. james had
arranged it a little bit...

Bubble
Walking to work today I had my earplugs in, listening to an
AFX track I hadn't heard in a long time. The sun was beating
down on me so I stared down focusing on the ground and the
music.

Walking and walking, the nice heat, the focus and the music
got me into a blissful bubble I seemed to be floating in.

As I walked under a tree something lightly touched my hair.
When I looked up I saw it was a wasp. It had popped my
bubble but also made me realize I had been in one.

true. Aphex is never boring. If you listen careful you can
find new sounds in old track. Automatically this track
becomes slightly different, not the same you remember it.
