An earlier post regarding what happens to the nergy part of
the body when we die.....I picture it like this, matter (the
body) is like a trumpet which is playing a note (energy),
when the trumpet is gone (we die) the note also is lost, can
no longer be produced. What are your thoughts?

your thoughts are chemical reactions, to begin with.
your bodily actions are all chemical reactions which means
that your whole life is one giant formula of chemical
actions.
your life = a formula
when you die, these chemical actions are finished.
therefor there is no thoughts.

i agree
life is just a chemical process
in a way, i think the idea of "life" is the biggest myth
ever
it might seem depressing, but oh well

i'd rather not believe in some fairy tale i make up cus it
makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

u should get over yourself: ur nothing more than a chemical

btw: please dont assume taht automatically makes me some
cold-hearted evil person who doesn't respect "life", and
experiments on children and has no morals or something like
that!!!
people seem to assume shit like that when they find out u
aren't spiritual

people assume that spirituality/religion automatically
equates to morality
i dont think so

we can still enjoy life and be happy and so on after i
acknowlege its an illusion

i think the smallness of "emotion" is what makes it so
enjoyable...

if it is just a chemical process... which is probably right,
but i'd wrather pretend it's something more important, or
significant, or whatever...
whatever it takes to keep my "mind" on more "important"

not controlled by us, but rather a combo of genetics/events
of the past/and our machine like qualities, w are never

well u have to admit that morals only exist in your head
anyway
morals are subjective they only exist in ur mind
BECAUSE they are based on VALUES (which are also subjective,
everyone has their own)

the purpose of your morals is to preserve/protect/work for
values

so morals only matter if u have some value that they are
upholding for you
(ie: we value freedom so our morals tell us not to impose on
the freedom of other people)

what i said (and zombiekev, but i dont want to speak for
him) may sound cold but theres no reason why u cant have
morals and be nice.. those just depend on values
that is, if u still want to use the concept of morals

when we die .. our bodies - or the trumpet per say - doesn't
just "vanish" - our body decomposes, or is burnt or whatever
- but is still subject to these "equations" as you guys put
it.

but i guess, you could argue that the "self" the mechanism
to achieve this - the machine - is no longer functional,
despite all the parts still being there ..

extent - otherwise society/life would undermine itself ..
