"Classic & Minimalism meets Electronic" - this could
possibly be a short description for the new release of
Viennese pianist, keyboarder and composer Gerald Krampl.

With Innocent Wasteland he has this time radically turned
away from commercial concessions like radio playability,
easy accessibility, clear song structures etc., in favor of
a more free, back to his personal roots reaching musical
comprehension.

The music on the album stays except two electronica tunes on
a minimalistic base of piano and a maximum of two more
synthetic string sounds (viola or violin + cello), but
extended with various electronic and nature sound effects
which add to the whole the character of a soundtrack.
Also one thing in mind was, that it should be possible to
easily perform this music live with a small kind of chamber
music ensemble, which hopefully can be realized in the near
future.

The overall theme of this very reflective and somber, from
classic and minimalism influenced album, which could nearly
be seen as a concept album, is in general devoted to the
endless cycle of destruction and the afterwards always
following new awakening.

Besides Gerald's concern with spiritual and meditative music
with his "Agnus Dei" project (combined New Age music &
poetry and was formed in 1999 together with his wife and
poet Hilde, who sadly passed away in 2002) and a classical
fairy tales project also with especially composed meditative
music accompanied (together with speaker Corinna Steinboeck,
2009), is his trend to create music for pictures constantly
getting stronger.

On one side for concretes, as for the multimedia projects of
the Viennese producer Andreas Pflanzl / woom:mediaV3:
