God I had a similar thing when me and a girlfriend decided to get physical in the bathroom because she didn't have a lock on her bedroom door. Halfway through her dad comes trundling upstairs to use the loo, she stalls him while we get dressed, I jam my finger in my eye and we use the excuse that there was a hair in there that I couldn't get out. Ah blissful youth. |

so how's it going Indeksical? i've been trying the Echo Nest thingie a bit, it's really good. (i'm not doing fancy stuff, just displaying the plain values it spits out) it pretty confidently splits a song into parts(chorus, verse etc... ) and smaller units called segments ("hits", or notes being struck..)... also scans for pitches and tonality, and beat detection of course. Pretty much Ableton's analysis on steroids. there should be some sort of interface for Max as well so i recommend you check it out. |

have you? i tried a little but got annoyed by the interface quick… also i believe it's kinda limited both performance wise and in what you can actually do with it. apparently you can use the Apple API's natively though, i.e. full multitouch etc.. |

Hey, this is pretty awesome. I liked the bits where those bunches of geometric shapes sort of explode into a new background color as a base for more... shapes. Also the part where the center of the groups of shapes was pure white and you could only see what color they were when they left trails and faded away. Very neat. Sorry for the shit descriptions. |
