i read 'dumbass'.

Try some old Christoph de Babalon. 'If You're Into It, I'm
Out Of It' is lovely. slightly raw.

Drum'n'bass is really a rare topic nowadays, like all music.

Yep RussellDust, that "If You're Into It, I'm Out Of It"
album is great. What You Call A Life is a fave.

Here are some more macc and dgoHn tracks.

dgoHn - The Fear of Falling in Love with Fear

[xgn013] Macc 2 tracker.

[xgn023] dgoHn 3 tracker.

[xgn020] Shadow Infestation EP 4 tracker (various artists).

Christoph de Babalon - Scylla & Charybdis

YEAH two great tracks. Got to play them loud!
The beat in Silver Blade was also used quite a lot by
Boymerang, who is well worth checking out (especially the
technology remix on no-u-turn) oh and this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gNRW19lodg&feature=fvw

That Dom and Roland track is good, but I always thought this
was the best: Mechanics on 31records.

Trace has some dubplates on youtube, the best is obviously
this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6cA1EbgpEM

Infact, despite movingshadow's efforts to block dnb, there
is loads of classic tunes on youtube, just browse the
related videos. The general rule of thumb is is it's from
around 1997 it's likely to be good. Anything after 2000 is
likely to be quite poor, even from some formerly great
artists.

offline dave_g from United Kingdom on 2009-12-28 11:50 [#02355241]

Oh and this is my number one favourite mix:
Trace and Ed Rush, One in the Jungle, 1997.

There's a copy here:

http://www.iainn.com/mixes/OneInTheJungle/One%20In%20The%20
Jungle%20-%20Ed%20Rush%20and%20Trace%20-%20No%20U-Turn%20Ex
perience%20-%2007.02.1997.mp3

Almost every song is "essential" in the real sense, not as
Boomkat would put it. The sound is slightly lo-fi as it was
probably recorded on cassette.

once again, cheers for these ace recommendations. always
nice to have a good d&b mix on the mp3 player.

i don't like dilinja and dom & roland, i listened to the
symphony of science track didn't like that either, tried a
guy called gerald album didn't like that either. i know a
lot of people like them but i'm not much into the style of
new drum and bass

offline mermaidman on 2009-12-29 08:16 [#02355413]
Points: 8315 Status: Regular

i love the Macc and dgoHn release, even though it's new it
takes a different path in terms of evolving the oldschool
drum and bass style, nothing to do with the ones mentioned
above

Checkout this

That's some of my favourite music I've made over the past
few years, it's all free for noncommercial purposes. Per
aspera ad astra is mostly drill/drum n bass. Enjoy.
