Her last album was released in 2006 which is quite recent, but it was crap and too complex which doesn't play to her strengths IMO. The others aren't that recent- Milk-Eyed Mender was 2004, so half a decade ago! :O Not recent.
I do like JN a lot, though. :)
It's not the only good thing to come out of the naughties, though. What about Drukqs, Untitled, Go Plastic and of course the albums by Xploding Plastix. :)

I guess it is the generation gap between me and others on this board, but Kate Bush just sounds too dated to me. The melodies sound like they could be nice, but they are thickly hidden by horrible drum samples. It might also be YouTube crapy quality sound. I mgith download some Bush if I can be bothered. I'll definately download some bush, though. :p

you should, Kate Bush is amazing, Aerial is good but mainly the second disc, The Dreaming and Hounds of Love have wonderful production.

There's a track called 'Joanni'. Maybe it's a tribute to the slightly better than Bush, Joanna Newsom. See, even Kate Bush admits it. Can;t argue with that! ;p

Hounds of Love is totally outstanding. The songwriting is so good that I doubt the 25-year-old production would affect it negatively. Aerial is brilliant, but doesn't quite have the durability of Hounds of Love. When Hounds of Love came out it was an "event" and lived up to it. Nobody makes albums that good anymore.

Listening to the album Aerials now and, after having returned home not in the best of moods, I feel kinda good now. Which I attribute to the album, but also being home after being out for a bit.

Like i said disc 2 is better but its not exactly the best introduction to her work... Hounds Of Love is the best place to start. I like Joanna Newsom but so far Kate is better, different genres though. Kate is from a time when Pop could be both artistic 'and' popular.

Exactly- I was not around at the time when op was like that. I wish I was, but I wasn't. Just like people from a certain generation enjoy BOC cos it reminds them of TV programmes that were on at the time, which is probably what BOC intended, I don't get the nostalgia in that way. I also have no feeling of pleasant nostalgia for KB.
I am downloading Hounds of Love now. :)
