well i am a huge fan of japanese animation, so i was
wondering if anyone else is into it? My favorites include
rurouni kenshin (all of it, including the samuri x) and
mysterious play. My least favorite is probably DBZ...

Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in a Shell. I'm not
an avid fan, but my friends have said those three are good,
and I agree.

I have two Samuri X videos and love them. Is Rurouni
Kenshin the creator? Can you suggest some goods? Others I
like are Lain, Princess Mononoke (one of my fav movies anime
or live action), Ghost In the Shell, Ninja Scroll (the
popular Basics) Battle Angel. Perfect Blue, Appleseed and
Vampire Hunter D were alright. I used to like the Biohunter
and Wicked City, but not really into that anymore.

Do you know of Metropolis? It's coming to theater's here
soon and I think it's an older film being rereleased.

yes a samuri x fan! Yes Rurouni is the creator, samuri x
was made after to show kenshins past. I would suggest
purchasing the entire series (90 some episodes) although
its really really expensive to do that. oh yea and buy them
on DVD so you can watch in japanese with english subtitles.
The english voices SUCK! you have to, and i mean have to
watch in japanese.

That shit is mad expensive! And yes, english language
versions suck. Those were the only available ones at the
nearby shop. What's the original series called? Maybe the
masive video store down the streat will have them.

i dont even care what the time or level of technology is. I
just like good characters and that epic feel that takes you
away. I didnt really like akira though. I think I loved
the first half or so and then got bored.

the american dubbed version of princess mononoke sucked
arse.
Claire Danes was so obnoxiously terrible i ended up hating
the movie.
i wish i had watched the subtitled version first...

Serial Eperiments Lain is a must watch.

Probably my fave anime film would be Lupin 3: Castle of
Cagliostro. I'm dissapointed that no one has mentioned it, I
think it's a masterpiece.

Also really love Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Ninja Scroll and
Angel Cop (Highly under-rated!!)

And as I've said before I also love Pokemon for the "bad
guys" Team Rocket. It's amazing that the writers of Pokemon
didn't just create stock bad guys because Jesse James and
Meowth are written with so much depth and past history it's
almost scary they are on a show like Pokemon (some episodes
story-lines are no exsistent). To most of the kid fans of
the show they are just the bad guys that the main characters
have to defeat but to the more mature fans they can see Team
Rocket are very funny, beautiful people that aren't really
bad guys, but are people who try to steal pokemon but really
have hearts!
