did you like, just get into it or is it... a trick?

it's always been ma favourite of thems.

how do you get into Autechre albums?

i can't say "awesome" to Confield or EP7, are they any good?

i absolutely hate confield - i never argued about its
artistic values but i simply don't like listening to it.
it's absolutely dark, cold and inhumane imho. actually the
first album worht mentioning talking about the genre
"abstract".

ep7 is probably also one of the lesser listened albums by
me. it still has this "techno-edge" to it but escapes to
often into the abstract shelf imo.

chiastic slide is for me personally a perfect match between
dsp-trickery and melody based music making.

what's funny is that draft 7.30 on the other hand is again
very abstract and weird yet still my favourite autechre
album and personally the album that i want to associate the
brand "autechre" with the most.

maybe the granulised-lofi-sample-madness is more appealing
to my ear than those cold semi-random-algorythmic-structures
on confield.

it seems most definitely more appealing.

and i have similar thoughts about chiastic, though huge
signs of the transition i think you're talking about you can
find earlier on tri repetae

Ep7 and Confield gave me the most i think. Fucking awesome
records.
I find some of Confield quite warm, especially a track like
Uviol.

I remember watching a documentary about deaf people and
their relation to music. At one point a different version of
uviol was played at a 'dance' group for deaf people. They
explained how they really felt the track. The vibrations
etc..

Got carried away and forgot this thread was about chiastic
slide. It's brilliant. Some of the first really mad work
they did i feel.

it's funny how with autechre who haven't (at least imo) made
any "bad" album it's quite difficult to cheer for one more
than another. listening now to chiastic i feel some kind of
regret i haven't listened to it more because it somehow
always stood in the shadow of other autechre albums.

my only complaint, if you'd call it one, is i think the end
of recury should go on for like 30 minutes

i really like everything up to and including hub. there are
some decent parts with the last 4 but overall not as strong
as the 1st half.
