i installed it because of the developer tools. Also because
i lost my instal disc for leopard, so i didn't want to spend
more money once snow leopard proves to be awesome.

Also this user data bug isn't a problem with every user.

go to accounts, disable guest accounts, problem solved?

but yeah, so far 10.6 hasn't been that useful imo. I'm
experiencing weird connectivity issues on the odd wireless
setups and a few 3d party plugins are broken or unstable,
but nothing too major.

I just wished they redid that crap shit junk iTunes, how can
it be that the most popular media player software is such a
slow piece of crap with shitty tedious interface?

Ableton has already crashed numerous times for me, and i
just installed SL an hour ago.

No fixed version yet. but would someone know what's causing
the crashes if i post some crash logs here?

ableton currently has serious problems when using the
complex setting for beat quantization on samples. i posted
this like a month ago. switch to beat (or tone or whatever
else you like) and you should be alright.

i've been using sl for over a month now without any problems
whatsoever (save for ableton, which was easily avoided
because i primarily work on music within a completely
separate install of mac os to avoid ANY conflicts). the ui
is cleaner, there are subtle tweaks which i like (changes in
how spaces reacts to opening new programs, list view for
stacks, slightly more comprehensive expose), and everything
does run just a bit smoother and faster on my now sadly
aging macbook.

also, anyone who attempts to be a first adopter and expects
professional-grade software to work flawlessly is an idiot
to begin with, so you can't blame apple for the software
incompatibilities.

Statements like that are kind of moot seeing as apple has
built credibility for itself as a company that only releases
things that work. Its not like they just happened to build
that reputation, they aggressively advertised to get it.
They get to swill around in their own shit for a while.

actually i think microsoft is the only company making the
claim that an os upgrade won't cause any incompatibilities,
so we'll see how that goes.

I don't remember reading that or seeing it anywhere.

I do remember about thirty different commercials saying that
apple products just work without any problems or headaches.
It doesn't matter if its an OS upgrade, they should warn
people about that one on the box.

Furthermore, this isn't a compatibility problem. This is a
flaw in the way the OS manages different user accounts.
Something that should have been caught at beta.

Thankfully I am going to be getting rid of my iMac soon.
Totally overhyped and underpreforming computers.

maybe they continue with small cute cats? Lion sounds kinda
stupid for an OS imo, also there's the snack of the same
name.

Good. Too many hipster twats use macs these days. Since the

Yes. Thats right. Its totally unreasonable to expect to be
able to discuss something on the internet that you don't
like without being called a troll.

Its fairly obvious from the topic title. Its a thread for
discussing an issue in the latest version of OSX. Don't want
to read people complaining about it, don't click on the
fucking link.
