So what was the first album of electronic music that you ever bought, stole, or borrowed? Mine was either Prodigy - Fat of the Land or Crystal Method - Vegas, I can't remember which I bought first. Don't give me shit, I was a freshmen in high school and hadn't had much exposure to it before. |

I was listening to electronic before I got A CD player and I dont remember what it was, but the first techno cd I bought was Junkie XL's Saturday Teenage Kick. |

Hey that's a cool question. I remember all that fun stuff...getting into electronica and the sounds. The very first thing was hearing a radio program that played deep house music (early early BKS, Love Inc., etc). Then one night a song came on called "Block Rockin' Beats" by the chemical brothers. I begged my mom to get it and...well Dig your own hole by the Chem. Bros was my first electronica cd and cd over all. I bought DP's Homework right after that. I got Dig your own hole when it came out so I guess back in '96 or so. |

Well, in the late 80's I bought a few House music tapes (hey, i'm in Chicago after all), but I don't think that counts. I'm really not sure if it was The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails or Xtort and Nihil by KMFDM, I bought the latter two at the same time. |

for a long time i did not even listen to music because i could never find what i liked until. i usually only saw bits and pieces of afx's come to daddy video but never really knew what it was. it wasn't until the breathe by prodigy that i decided to look for what i liked and it has came down to this. |

I remember Amp! that show got me started on the right path! I remember seeing the video for "Second Bad Vilbel" and I couldn't pronounce Autechre's name (I wrote it down as "Autreche") but I knew somehow that they'd end up being two of my favourite music artists of all time. |

depeche mode- music for the masses was my first. up until then I had been strictly heavy metal, punk and hardcore. Oddly though i bought it because i kept seeing all these people( mostly hot chicks) wearing all these DM shirts( a concert had just passed through from that tour, it peaked my curiousity and converted me.Now mostly electronic is what I listen to but not exclusively. Some people on this site are way more into than I am. I mean even Aphex is cool, but these people that call him "god" freak me out. |

Wip3out 2097 and Rage Racer for the PS introduced me to it. Wip3out had some good tunes by Cold Storage, and Rage Racer had some nice DnB tunes by a japanese artist. From there came Wip3out XL and Orbital. I remember hearing Halcyon & On & On when I went to go see Mortal Kombat in the theaters. Otherwise, I must say Wip3out's were an excellent beginning step. |
