interacting with a child

i was walking along the street (i had to get cat food ((its
the details that make the story)) and there was this kid
strapped up in a pushchair. poor thing had dropped his
mickeymouse balloon-on-a-stick. he wasnt crying he just
looked vague about the whole darn thing, like he was
computing these new feelings of loss. just before the
balloon blew onto the busy road i gently picked it up and
noticed the kid. i held the balloon by the mickey face area
and handed it to the child. his tiny hand wrapped around the
stick and he looked into my eyes really really deep. again
he was computing something. i smiled a little awkwardly and
carried on walking.
how have i affected this tiny childs mind? what will the
colors i was wearing mean to him in the future? blue =
relief of refound treasured item? some part of his
infinitely complex mind will develop around the image of me.
i hate that and feel like i could have destroyed him. i feel
glad to help, i just dont like that kind of power or
influence. of course im taking it far too seriously, and
this childs mind is going to be affected by thousands of
faces and moments. but i feel itchy about being one of them.
i dont know how ppl could hit children i dont i dont i do
not sir!
DISCUSS YEAH

He probably dropped it again on the way home, and someone
else picked it up and gave it him back. That person could
have been a murderer, thief or wife batterer - yet you're
act of kindness has immediately been wiped out. Replaced by
the smiling eyes of evil!

Little kids are like frenetic little computers, downloading
constantly, using all their senses all the time, not shutting
them off when they smell something bad or see something
scary. Its up to us to show them everything good about the
world and protect them from all the bad shit.
He would have watched that ballloon bob about with that
lovely curious wonderment kids have but then been distraught
when it had gone completely out of sight and reach.
He might not remember your face,Ampi, but at least for today
he wont know that sadness of loss.

Unless of course he let go again asd soon as your back was
turned...

:)

All your post needed was the word vile and it would have
been a dead ringer for a daily mail news comment.

also the other day i was at my sisters place doing some
cleaning (with a broom and baby wipe on a stick ((its the
details you see)) and i hear this man say 'what did i
fffuuckin tell you' in this hushed but infinitely vicious
voice. i could see the kid outside thru the window and he
was 6 or something, the father was off screen. his face
didnt look sad or scared, hed obviously been talked to like
this a lot. however his faced had that thing again;
computing and absorbing a moment. the father continued in
his i-dont-want-the-neighbours-to-hear tone 'dont EVER
fffuck with things you dont fucking know'. each word was
drawn out, his voice was hissing with contempt. the kid said
nothing. his face said everything tho; he was learning. :(
not even 3 mins later his dad was talking about 'i wonder
why its not working? hmm, strange?' in a perfectly calm
voice. the kid still listening and learning.

'all women are like me'

yeah then i saw the james bulger thing last night. he was 2,
they made him walk about 3 miles (during this time eye
witnesses say the child was crying a lot ((details)).

"Facts established at trial show that, at this location, one
of the boys threw blue modelling paint on Bulger's face.
They kicked him and hit him with bricks, stones and a 22lb
(10 kg) iron bar[3] [4]. They then placed batteries in his
mouth [5]. James suffered skull fractures as a result of the
iron bar striking his head; this wound is believed[by whom?]
to have caused his death.

Before they left him, the boys laid Bulger across the
railway tracks and weighted his head down with rubble, in
hopes that a train would hit him and make his death appear
an accident. After Bulger's killers left the scene, his body
was cut in half by a train."

I didn't know laws still allowed people to get anywhere near
kids. If you touched his balloon, that's probably
pedophilia.

You should have held up the balloon and said 'THAT'S NOT
MICKEY MOUSE, THAT'S JUST TIT DIRT!'

This is a good post.

I like your diverse and substantial way of viewing how
things impact childrens' minds.

Are you sure when he was looking into your eyes "deep"(ly)
he wasn't just looking at you in a dumb kinda way? Kids
often do that.

I think you were more affected than the kid. The kid
probably just saw the reaction in your eyes and could mirror
back to you the feelings you were showing?

and you affect everybody, just because they don't show it
like little kids do, everyone is connected and we all have
some sort of impact on people or things we come in contact
with.

no the kid looked at me like hed seen someone real special.
i hate that shit. i should just stop making everything so
complex i guess.
my niece who is super cool has a friend her age called jack.
hes a bit of a cunt somtimes but all boys are, anyway...
when he was 5 or something he came round and it was just me
looking after him. it seemed he never really got played with
much and cos im great with kids i made up the best game
ever. it had lazers, it had robots, it had a perfect balance
of tension and plot. his face was just lit up with feeling
at how much excitement could be conjured from these
inanimate objects and he was so into it. when the game came
to a full and complete ending in which the devilbots were
destroyed by the breaking of the 'evil mirror' he paused and
just looked at me. i felt strange about it cos up until then
i was just a kid too. he said nothing and hugged me really
tight and cos im a girl inside i felt like crying. i then
left and told him he was the coolest kid ever and i went to
go smoke spliffs and play some streetfighter or something.
as i was closing the door, and getting ready to shake off
the feeling of massive influence on a miniature humans life,
he called out 'i love you'. i didnt know what to say so i
just closed the door real quick and spent far too long
wondering wether id upset him by not responding. bout an
hour later i walked past him and ruffled his hair and gave
him a big fat smile and he looked so happy. but i still felt
like the whole thing was tricky as fuck.

i just dont like having such an impact on a child, but then
again there was this time when i scared 7 shits out of him
on halloween and it didnt bother me as much (mind you he was
like family by that time and i was used to affecting his
life so i guess it was less of a big deal). haha shit im so
fucking soppy and delocate...
erm
FUCK YOU YOU WANKY PACK OF SCRITFAGS I HATE YOU ALL AND IM
REALLY CROSS AT SOMETHING RIGHT NOW!!!!
