I love this stuff. I've been drinking Ouzo 12 recently and
have been enjoying it thoroughly.

Are there any other good kinds XLT would recommend? Any good
recipes for mixed drinks?

I would always reccomend Ouzo on the rocks with loads of
crushed ice over anything mixed, cause it seems like such a
waste, but i kind of hit the spot when i once mixed Ouzo
with some orange-peach nectar, and it tasted very good
actually.

i enjoyed ouzo and birch beer. mixing with ouzo or any anis
liquor is kind of limited tho.

have my faith in humanity

but what would the world be without bourbon and 7
or jack and coke...lynchburg lemonade?

scotch is one i generally never mix. just neat or on the
rocks.

seconded.

scotch is for mixing, a single malt should be drank
straight.

NYC is going down, my friend. Going down.

I agree that Ouzo on the rocks is bomb, but I wanted the
ability to make intriguing mixed drinks from it if the need
ever presented itself.

That suggestion to use orange-peach nectar sounds delish,
Fah. Thanks.

firstly he said 'good things are happening in newyork'

then he said that 'ouzo on the rocks is he bomb', which
means he likes it allot. and he went on to say how he would
like to find other drinks to mix with it.

:P

I'm not the heathen. I just like Ouzo so much, and I usually
only buy that. If friends don't like Ouzo, I hoped I could
find a recipe to make it less anise-y for them.

I just drank a bottle of 'after shock', do you get that in
new york? i bet you would love it. i have calmed down now,
but i was loosing it earlier, i needed several slaps around
the face by Svalx

I've never slapped anyone and I never would, particularly
not a man.

Unfortunately buddy, aniseed is the kind of taste you can't
disguise, so I don't think mixing it would make your mates
like it. If anything it might make it a bit sickly or
something

yea wth ouzo you can't cover it up. you have to work with
it. that is why birch beer works because it already has
kind of a herb/root flavor. root beer was not quite as good
for some reason, but white (clear) birch beer was the
ticket.

i once was going to try and steep some wormwood in ouzo to
make some kind of bootleg absinthe, but then i decided i
didn't want to die and never went through with it. can't
really be absinthe without the juniper and everything else
that has to go into it anyway.
