Would you buy a record or CD having never heard of the
artist / label ?

With online shopping you can get recommended and preview
tracks etc but i think allot of people still buy from a
shop
I think it's fun buying something new and strange, sometimes
the art work will do it for you?

is a bit annoying if you can't skip through the each track,
and make sure it sounds descent to your ears... But i've
bought quite a few albums without knowing shit, yeah!

back in the day in my innocent youth, before the internet I
would go on my skateboard into town buy a milkshake and view
the cd and records in a store called 'Spin-a-disc'. I was
into hiphop and drum and bass mostly, but anything strange
and unusual is what i would go for, rather than the
commercial stuff. so i would sometimes select a few unknown
artist's and listen to them. but many times i would just
pick one up and buy it because people would hog the
listening stations .

I got into alot of cool electronic music this way,
funkstorung, company flow, arovane, dj food, Req, matmos to
name a few

I bought 'Lexanculpt - The blurring of Trees' without
knowing what it was, so: yes.

count?

well i'm just asking because i was toying with the idea of
getting vinyls pressed and going to independant record shops
to release them. my music isn't really good enough yet, but
i just wondered if people would buya record without
knowledge of the artisit or label.

I remember my record shop used to have white label records,
which would ust have a white label on them and a name, no
record label. and djs would buy them sometimes

i'm sure people would buy it if you made it worth their
while. Just don't be all dumb about it. just put a record
into the shop, see if it hits.

i paid 20 euros for a mixtape to a record shop in Tarifa
(Spain) called 'Tarifa Records', trusting the local
youngster i thought i did well not to try it first but it
became depressing at the second listen, so i supplied with
the local radios playing fifty years old stuff, and i be
happy again

Before they had the stupid three track rule on CD singles I
would buy loads purely based on the artwork and the names of
their songs or band.

Now I just download stuff randomly.
